I thought that for awhile that this discussion was not going to happen as the site was down for over an hour. I kept receiving this message. “cannot access the database”.

humphrey

For those who have problems accessing the NYT the results can also be found here.

All the results can be found by clicking the various tabs.

AS best as I can figure the first polls to close will be in Ohio at 7:30

There were a few issues in Detroit due to power outages due to a recent storm.

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/michigan/2018/08/07/power-outages-present-problems-some-polls/923214002/

A few election polling places across Metro Detroit lost power at the start of Tuesday’s primary after a thunderstorm Monday.
Utility crews restored electrical service to all the polling places around 3 p.m. Tuesday, in a power outage that affected 40,000 customers, DTE Energy spokeswoman Randi Berris said.

This could affect turnout.

Polls have closed in Ohio waiting for the first results.

humphrey

In a meaningless first report the Dems grab the lead.

jcitybone

El Sayed and Whitmer running close with 1% reporting. Thanedar’s support seems to have collapsed. Good news for our side

humphrey

Once again it proves that the polls are not a good indicator of the final results.

humphrey

But I might add there is a real possibility it sways the uneducated voter. Not in a good way.

jcitybone

Sadly now 52 to 36 with 2%

Results from Michigan are starting to trickle in

humphrey

UNfortunately as far as the Michigan Governor’s race it is all over except for the final results. El Sayed is only leading in one county. He ran a good race but the momentum did not appear until it was too late. Chock one up for the establishment.

😢😢😢😢😢

jcitybone

Actually El Sayed has now taken the lead in Wayne County (Detroit). He’s also leading in Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids. Very close in Kalamazoo. Whitmer is winning the more rural counties by a lot.

humphrey

I hope I get egg on my face for throwing in the towel too soon. He is now leading in 4 counties.

TheLeftistheCenter

Its only 26% and they may be trying to discourage those waiting for a ballot, there are a lot of micro tricks they play to give themselves edges.

humphrey

The Ohio race has tightened up with the lead going back and forth.

jcitybone

Yes that one is a nail biter. O’Connor is ahead right now with most votes left in a 50/50 county. Still some left in the most Dem county though

wi60

that one may hit recount status

jcitybone

Looks like Ohio12 is over with Balderson winning by less than 1%. Still pretty bad for the Republicans in a blood red gerrymandered district.

humphrey

James Thompson appears to be doing very well in Kansas 04.

Rashida tlaib appears to have won Mi district 13 in both the special to replace John Conyers and the Democratic primary for November. She is also a Muslim

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashida_Tlaib

During her tenure as a legislator, Tlaib was one of 10 Muslims serving in state legislatures across the United States. She is the second Muslim to serve in the Michigan State House of Representatives, after James Karoub. Tlaib is the second Muslim woman to serve in a state legislature nationwide, after Jamilah Nasheed of Missouri.[5] She and Justin Amash, a Republican who was also elected in 2008, were the first two Palestinian-American members of the Michigan legislature.

On August 8, 2016, Tlaib attended a speech by then-presidential nominee Donald Trump at Cobo Center and asked him to return a Purple Heart given to him earlier in the week by Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman, stating that Trump has not earned the medal. Tlaib was then ejected from the venue.

A very appreciative T and R, Benny!! This FL Futurist has been shaking her victory fist!! A few thoughts from early Wednesday morning. El-Sayed might have lost, but he will win the next election he campaigns in. Whitmer better pay attention especially on MFA. Abdul did very well. Look at what he was up against. Thompson and Welder…I am so overjoyed. Yes! Yes! Yes! Thompson will win the district in November. Welder’s race is going into recount. Missouri defeated Right to Serf. These are YUGE!! I’m watching these bellwether ‘red’ states. There is a lot of action going on that the Craporate MSM misses. Good. Best thing for us is to stay under their idiotic YUPPIE radar for now. The FRightwingnuts and their Fundie soldiers have been scheming and plotting for decades!! Try over 50 years. Here we are only 3 years down the road from when the Bernster started campaigning. Hold that thought for a moment. See what I mean?
