Israel hits back at Paraguay after it moves embassy back to Tel Aviv from Jerusalem

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the closure of his country’s embassy in Paraguay in response to a decision by the South American nation to move its own embassy back to Tel Aviv from Jerusalem

The decision by newly-elected President Mario Abdocomes comes just months after his predecessor, former President Horacio Cartes, opened the embassy in Jerusalem in May.

The Palestinians said their foreign minister, Riyad al-Maliki, met Mr Abdo two weeks ago and hailed Paraguay’s change of mind as “a new Palestinian diplomatic achievement.”

“One of the most complex components of the conflict [between Israel and the Palestinians] is the status of Jerusalem,” said Paraguay’s Foreign Minister Luis Alberto Castiglioni at a news conference.

Mr Abdo defended his decision on Twitter, saying it was part of an effort to achieve “broad, lasting and just peace” between Israelis and Palestinians. “Paraguay is a country of principles,” he said.

Yep a nobel and kind person that will most likely cast the deciding vote on Roe V Wade. When he casts that vote I would like for him to explain to a mother who’s carrying a child with an extreme medical defect or a woman forced to carry a child due to a rape why he cast that vote. Their are many more reasons for an abortion.

Is North Brooklyn’s State Senator Martin Dilan The Real Estate Lobby’s Favorite Democrat?

With just a week until primary Election Day, incumbent Brooklyn State Senator Martin Malavé Dilan faces a serious challenge from upstart democratic socialist opponent Julia Salazar. The seat, which Dilan has held for 17 years, has become another flashpoint for a nationwide power struggle between entrenched Democratic incumbents and younger, less-experienced candidates embraced by the Party’s ascendant left-wing.

In a district spanning the rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Bushwick, and Greenpoint, access to housing has become a central issue in the race. To preempt the challenge from his left, Dilan, a former protégé of disgraced Brooklyn kingmaker Vito Lopez, has positioned himself as a fighter for tenants and an opponent of rapacious landlords. “I’ve always been a champion for working-class, low-income, and senior tenants in the district,” Dilan told Gothamist, touting his support for the Loft Law, rent freezes, and increasing penalties for abusive landlords.

An analysis of Dilan’s campaign war chest, however, tells a different story about the incumbent.

Jury Fines Man $1 For Punching Charlottesville Rally Organizer

For the crime of striking “Unite the Right” organizer Jason Kessler, a Charlottesville, Va., jury says Jeffrey Winder must pay a fine of $1 — far short of the maximum possible penalty. Winder had appealed his original guilty finding, which included a 30-day jail sentence.

A judge had found Winder guilty of misdemeanor assault in February. After Winder appealed, a jury affirmed the guilty verdict this week but decided he should serve no jail time — and pay only a minimal fine.

“They clearly thought about it very sincerely,” Winder’s attorney, James Abrenio, said of the jury. He also praised the judge and prosecutor in the case, saying, “They were all kind.”

Winder had faced a maximum sentence of a year in jail and a $2,500 fine.

The assault took place on Aug. 13, 2017, one day after Heather Heyer, 32, was killed by an alleged white supremacist who drove his car into a crowd of people who had taken to the streets in Charlottesville to oppose the white nationalist rally.

Bartlesville, OK – A Bartlesville man has been arrested after he accidentally burned down his home by attempting to burn a pair of Nike sneakers in protest of the latest Colin Kaepernick Ad.

According to authorities, Jason Helms, 26, placed a pair of Nike sneakers in his garage and soaked them in Kerosene before lighting them on fire and filming it with his iPhone. The fire ended up spreading to the garage walls and ceiling before spreading to his actual home. Helms called 911 but by the time firefighters arrived they were unable to save his home.

KARMA and a fine example of stupid human, please don’t reproduce. Only an idiot would burn up a $200 pair of shoes

TheLeftistheCenter

Im sure there are even a few super geniuses out there that actually went and bought a pair just to burn.

Colin K is laughing all the way to the bank. Nike’s marketing is smiling from ear to ear as their advertising will sell a ton of product. Good for them. No wonder I hate TV as I have always hated the ads!

humphrey

Bwahahaha! That will certainly teach NIKE a lesson.

I wonder if the moron will post the video?

TheLeftistheCenter

There was another guy that burned them on his feet and suffered serious burns, pretty much proving those most full of hate are least full of brains.

Ironically what they are protesting is a ad that says ‘Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything’ which I guess in some weird way they took to heart.

This seems to fit.

Finally someone is charged with election fraud. Oh my! It happens to be a Republican.

I am sure that Kris Kobach will be right on top of this.

http://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/405470-gop-candidate-for-kansas-house-seat-charged-with-election-fraud

A GOP candidate running for a seat in the Kansas House of Representatives was arrested and charged with election fraud on Thursday.

Adam Thomas is being charged in the Johnson County District Court with election perjury, according to The Kansas City Star. The charge against him alleges that he submitted a falsified document to election officials in May.

The court documents do not provide additional details, according to the Star report.

State Rep. Vic Miller (D) called for the investigation into Thomas this summer, claiming he lied about where he lives in official documents to run for office, the Star reported.

A spokeswoman for Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who is running for Kansas governor and often speaks against voter fraud, declined to comment to the Star. The spokeswoman also said the secretary of State would not comment on his role in the arrest.

Figures. Regarding abortion, I speak from experience. Over 30 years ago, I found myself pregnant. I was married and extremely careful in practicing safe sex. I knew from a very young age I was not maternal. I went to my gyn and yep, I was about 3 weeks pg. She referred me to a medical clinic which had doctors and was certified. This was 1986. I made the appt. and had the procedure done a week later. I almost collapsed, not from the procedure which was a D & C, but from the combination of drugs they gave us to get thru it. The nurse and doctor had to help me get off the surgical table. I was passing out and the nurse literally held me up as I stumbled out to the recovery room, and gently positioned me into a recovery chair. She crouched down next to me and made me promise that I would not get into this medical situation again cos of my reaction to the drugs. I am writing this cos terminating a pregnancy is a serious medical decision women face. Nature does not smile on us who do so. I get absolutely livid over the bullshit the religious yahoos spread about this being some sort of walk in the park. Having an unwanted child is the greater and bigger sin. I never got into this predicament again. I am damned lucky, too as I was able to access medical care to deal with such a serious medical choice and predicament. I rest my case. 🙂

Tough week with these Kavanaugh hearings. I’ve tried to avoid them, a bit too much to take.

But, for one thing, my boss has been listening on his tv.

The hard part for me is that while so many people seem to be becoming aware of how bad a nominee Kavanaugh is, and how two Democrats in particular (who may or may not be about to throw their proverbial hats into the 2020 prez ring) are certainly putting on a seemingly robust questioning for, that it feels like a done deal.

One demographic, if you will, that seems to be just now waking up to potential realities is the LGBTQ community.

By the way, I don’t know Sarah Posner, just posted her tweet as an example of the outrage I’m seeing now re ‘Obergefell’ trending on twitter right now.
