Horrific. Seems like every day there is some new atrocity over there.

Jewish Voice for Peace has a petition out, asking that a young poet be released from house arrest for her writing.

These signers, from Alice Walker and Claudia Rankine to Naomi Klein and Jacqueline Woodson, represent some of the most respected individuals in the arts and literary worlds.

Dareen Tatour has been charged with incitement to violence based on a poem posted to Youtube. She is one of over 400 Palestinians arrested in the last year for their expressions of resistance to the Israeli Occupation over social media.

I signed, too. They’re up to 7498 signers so far!

Hope you don’t mind my posting this here. Another oppressed people right here.

An excellent piece.

It’s unbelievable. Breaking treaties is fine when it comes to Native Americans? But God forbid that you prevent a Wall Street banking exec from getting their previously contracted bonuses out of bailout money — because they had a contract.

When will we finally get it right? Our Revolution can’t happen soon enough.

so sorry linda, I can’t seem to delete the duplicate. eeek!

With Hillary as President, I fear even more for the Palestinians. Hillary’s a real advocate for children… unless those children are the enemies of her good pal Netanyahu.

So glad to see you here, Fishtroller03! You’re making the circle of good colleagues wider!

Thanks! It’s a good site and I come to it every day (along with the two reddit sites) to keep up with the news and commentary. I still post on DKos just to kick them out of the bubble once in awhile. It’s a hazardous activity! ;>)

Just in case you’re still around, Linda, I’m off to binge watch OUAT. :O)

I keep wondering where are the Israeli voices saying, “And how is this different from our persecution by the Nazis?”

Don midwest

Thanks. Looks like Palestine is in for more trouble after the election.

Can’t get the last two links to work.

And we, the United States and the rest of the modern world, look the other way while all this happens.

Shame, on all of us: With our collective silence, we are as guilty as those pulling the triggers.
