The Coming Great American Solar Eclipse of 2017 On August 21st, there will be a total solar eclipse across a vast swath of the continental United States. The eclipse will cross the US diagonally, from Oregon to South Carolina. It will pass over the Midwest around 1:30 pm, and it will last about 2 minutes. This is the first total solar eclipse across the continental US in roughly 100 years, so try to make some arrangements to see it.
