Thanks, Benny! So important to keep up our courage in these times. Trump makes it so easy for Dems to run back to the corporate fold. And really, Trump allows the DLC types to get away with being corporatists, because he is so outrageous.

Maybe the Democrats should take this to heart.

The Bernie impact grows.

++ Really good post. Thank you, Benny!

In response to the Medium piece, though, I would urge that WE join BERNIE as an Independent! Why ask him to join one more splinter group, when there’s a party right there. It already has more members than either Dems or Repubs, Bernie appeals to a lot of them, Bernie IS one already, and there is at least somewhat of an infrastructure–remember Perot?

We’d have to fix the dishonest voting and political machines to win, but we have to do that to win anyway, as we saw in 2016. I have trouble commenting on Medium. I joined and then they didn’t recognize me. Too much trouble for now. I’ll just say my piece here. :O)

From what I can tell, DCCC didn’t jump in on the Thompson contest until the night before the election, yet:

It’s as though the party is taking this loss as a good sign! I’ve read lots of posts today that seem to take the wrong lesson from Thompson’s relatively good showing.

Instead of realizing that with a little boost (like authorizing the measly $20k he asked them for to send mailers out) Thompson could have won! Yet the PTB seem to see this as a ‘Yay! Dems will have a wave election cycle in 2018!’. smdh

Their rationale, that if they’d helped him it would have ‘hurt’ him, was bull poop.

p.s. I responded on twitter to one post that was gushing about how Thompson’s good results meant there could be a good showing in 2018 with a “Yes! Perhaps it shows that people are energized and hungry for true progressives!!”.

I’m not going to let them chalk Thompson’s performance up as just as a response to Trump, we need to highlight the fact that Thompson was a Berniecrat! And maybe, just maybe, that is why he did well!!!

Sad but true.

Hot sure of Progressive Army’s view on this issue but it is a BFD!

A confrontation might be imminent.

Foreign journalists visiting North Korea gathered in Pyongyang for “a big and important event” on Thursday with tensions high over the possibility of a new weapons test by the isolated state and as a U.S. carrier group sails towards the Korean peninsula.

North Korea marks the 105th anniversary of the birth of the state founder Kim Il Sung on Saturday and in 2012 launched a long-range rocket carrying a satellite to mark the date. It tested a newly developed intermediate-range missile last year.

Around 200 foreign journalists are in Pyongyang for North Korea’s biggest national day called “Day of the Sun”. Officials gave no details of the big event and similar announcements in the past have been linked to relatively low-key set pieces.

Tensions on the Korean peninsula mounted this week as the White House said U.S. President Donald Trump has put North Korea “clearly on notice” that he will not tolerate certain actions and China urged a peaceful resolution of the tension.

I no longer watch MSNBC I got this video of Chris Hayes interviewing Bernie from the website.
