The idea that the Nazis were socialists is transparently absurd. Unfortunately, it’s an idea that prominent figures on the Right have taken up. They were, in fact, committed anti-socialists.https://t.co/9tbcrbKIo2
The reason FRight creeps like Paul pull this nonsense is cos they know that there are a lot of dumb Americans (including so-called “highly” educated ones).
I’m glad they aren’t negotiating yet. Illustrates to everyone they are not bipartisan. Dems should note the cues here, there is not a lot of point in being bipartisan. Unfortunately, they too will keep preaching the “bipartisan” Dems and how they want to work together.
See? Yuck-yuck-yuck. Gaetz belongs in jail which is exactly where his pal Greenberg is headed. Only reason he’s not going is the usual: Daddy has plenty of moolah.
All Jeffries needs is 6 of them. I would really like to see a genuine FDR Progressive run a competent campaign (no DNC interference) against a few of these FRightie bozos in their red districts. Bet there would be some surprises.
Rep. Bob Good: “I’m absolutely a no. You don’t ever have to ask me again if I’m a no. Never have to ask me again if I’m a on Kevin McCarthy. I will never vote for Kevin McCarthy.” pic.twitter.com/H2d3meGnk9
Regardless of what happens with the Speaker vote today, Republicans owe their slim majority to gerrymandering in Texas where based on their share of the vote they should have 21 seats among the Texas delegation instead of the 25 they drew for themselves. https://t.co/emsm9W12Ob
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear called on lawmakers to send a medical cannabis legalization bill to his desk during his annual State of the Commonwealth speech.https://t.co/P6OjSsljTxpic.twitter.com/rfiXKmaPtj
He’s rotten to the core, but he’s still human. He thinks his gravy train is threatened, it will get his attention. Beijing Boy counts on the fact that a lot of KY folks are politically stupid.
The only person that should be gloating right now is David Sirota. Instead of wasting opposition to Pelosi’s speakership on a failed M4A vote, he argued progressives could actually force real structural changes. ‘FTV’ was put to bed by this piece 2yrs ago. https://t.co/WJRQHlH0jfpic.twitter.com/mkrrOO4YAk
Well, that’s for sure. There are a few positives. Our Progressive side is gaining more members, and the in-fighting among the GOPukes will jam up the attempts to do some more FRightie destruction.
T and R x 2, and thanks Ms. Benny!! 🙂 You’re right about my OTs getting a bit lengthy. However, as I have repeatedly stated, anytime I can help our Nest, I’m more than glad to do so. Hope you are getting back to 100%.
Thank you, Orl, for taking the reins earlier this week. I’m recovering but I’m doing so whereby I’m not missing any steps in the process. I can walk with a cane but the swelling is my issue, and as my surgeon said, swelling is the last to go. That will continue for another 6 months to a year.
In short, osteoarthritis. It’s metastasizing in my body and has been for 20 years. First it was plantar fasciitis, so I got some insoles put into my shoes. Then my right knee. I injured it in 2005, and no one would operate on it, I was told it would heal on its own, which it never did fully. I regret not pushing the system further, but I was stuck in a dysfunctional HMO at the time. Essentially, it was traumatic arthritis.
The total knee replacement fixed the issue.
My cervical section of the spine – the bone spurs are touching the nerve and causing bulging herniated discs. I have to take injections; one is coming up in a couple of weeks.
The latest problem arose 2 years ago when I noticed my big toe just seemed jammed after walking my dog, and it turns out the arthritis devoured my cartilage, thus they fused the nerve joints of my big and second toe. They also took some bone from the heel area as a volunteer to graft it. I lost flexibility in my big toe and second toe, but I’ve been told if I keep making progress, it should not be painful in the future. I’ve read accounts on FB support groups for Big Toe Fusion whereby some have had bad experiences after a few months (the joint did not align and the hardware started coming loose, thus repairs) but so far it looks very good, already the scar is looking minimal. This website provides the details, but my surgeon has proscribed longer time to recover. It’s fine because I had a lot of sick leave built up over the years. The bone removed near my heel is actually more uncomfortable at the moment. Taking showers are now a new challenge after sponge bathing and washing my hair in the kitchen sink using a knee scooter to help stand for 6 weeks. My foot swells bigly and I have to do RICE almost immediately after getting dressed.
Some levity: better living via bioengineering and chemistry (the meds)!
Wow. You have my utmost support and sympathy.👍👍👍 Part of my luck is genetics, and the other part is a 6th sense about my body. I have always been fascinated with human anatomy, diet and fitness. I was born with hip dysplasia as a premie. Still ended up being 5’11” tall with straight posture. Never smoked and was always super active. 🙂 I went through and survived an unusual life saving medical surgery called a complete gastrectomy. Basically, it was caused by a rare hernia in my diaphragm that was caused and went undiagnosed after I was t-boned by a drunk driver one night 23 years ago. Being as I live in crooksville, I couldn’t go after the drunk. He was cough-cough not declared the cause of the accident by the ahole cops here. So, I was forced to go back to work even though I was not fully healed. That’s cos this state has been a sh1thole right-to-ripoff employees, and anti-union for decades. Well, I had a quack doctor on the fraudulent med insurance I supposedly had on the last job I worked. The hernia grew worse and I finally collapsed one night back in January 2002. I was rushed to the hospital-code red. What that means is I was dying but conscious. Code blue is the worse: DOA usually. The minute they got me to the hospital, I was immediately put under heavy sedation. No questions asked. Hubster followed the ambulance and he was freaking out. He had an important Magic game he had to TD that night but no way. Two young surgeons who had just finished their residencies were called in, and I was rushed right in to surgery. It took them 5 hours and I lost 40 lbs on the operating table. They saved my life, needless to say. 🙂👍If they had not been on call, I would have had to be air-vac to either Tampa or Jacksonville. I would have died en route. Now, you all know why I am super rad about unions and M4A. I’ve walked in those shoes, and I don’t want anyone else to go through the hell I unknowingly went through. Sorry about the comment length. ☹️
U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, who has represented Michigan in the U.S. Senate since 2001 and risen to become a member of Democratic leadership in the chamber, announced Thursday morning she would not seek another term in 2024.
Stabenow, 72, who lives in Lansing, was the first woman to be elected a U.S. senator from Michigan in 2000 when she defeated Republican incumbent Sen. Spencer Abraham. Since then, she has won three more six-year terms and serves as chairman of the Agriculture Committee and of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
She gave no specific reason for her decision to depart, other than to say she’s ready to spend time with her family, including her 96-year-old mother.
“Inspired by a new generation of leaders, I have decided to pass the torch in the U.S. Senate. I am announcing today that I will not seek re-election and will leave the U.S. Senate at the end of my term on January 3, 2025,” Stabenow said in a news release.
Why not just quit and let Whitmer pick a replacement so they have an ‘incumbent’ come 2024? It’s the kind of thing the Republicans would do, no? https://t.co/MCrnXcoCAV
Matt Gaetz of Florida just voted for Donald J. Trump for speaker, possibly an olive branch after the former president has been encouraging the restive defectors to back Kevin McCarthy.
New York Republican Mike Lawler just announced himself as representing Bill and Hillary Clinton’s district before voting for Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.)
Thank you Sean Patrick Maloney.
Benny
BTW, I thought Lawler’s self-announcement was crass. I’m not a fan of the Clintons. It’s more that SPM totally messed up the count with his shenanigans. NY State Dem party shares some blame on this as well.
Morning birdies! Our last thread was beginning to be rather lengthy, so I’ve created another one.
IE counterproductive to corcrap profits

The Cult-45 wing which is minority in the wants total control of the GQP party
DeSh1tface and Tallahassee goons pulled that here in Floridumb, too.
And Walker in WI with his gerrymandering
This would be progress. Might fend off McTurtle for now.
KY voters especially the young folk need to raise holy h3ll over it through their social networks. That will get Beijing Mitchie’s attention.
McTurtle ignores any social justice. Solely, he supports socialism for the wealthy.
He’s rotten to the core, but he’s still human. He thinks his gravy train is threatened, it will get his attention. Beijing Boy counts on the fact that a lot of KY folks are politically stupid.
The turtle doenst have much time left on this planet, once he goes it will get passed…
The Republican led House is going to be quite the crap show

Ouch! I don’t mean to pry, but I know you stay active. What caused you to have this surgery?

Something tells me this is not a spur of the moment. Going to be interesting to see who they have in mind to take over.
Hope we can find out what the story is. I hope she isn’t ill. Perhaps 25 years are enough for her.
Whoa, la58! Do you think Whitmer or someone like her might take a crack at this one?
If Biden decides not to run, I could see Whitmer running. I think the senate wouldn’t help her resume that greatly.
McCarthy loses again. History for this century. The GOP Brat Pack is sticking together. But something is afoot.
NYT:
If you all mention Gaetz around my cracker Hubster, he will blow a gasket. He hates that POS. 💩
He’s not the only one ,several GQPs do that to me when they open thier mouth
Stuff from the peanut gallery.
Another POS only South African flavored. 💩💩

Orl, your new Congress critter is off to a good start on the democracy front. Good way to attract future voters.
Well, I guess we’re owed one.🙂☮️ The Orlando-Tampa-St. Pete I-4 corridor is gradually going more and more liberal progressive.👍
