Wow. We needed some teaching of CRT to our Supreme Court members. They have no idea of how we survived to live a decent life..

polarbear4

oh snap.

idk the new way to say that. lol

yeah…sorry to hear that RBG felt that way…disappointing…but there’s a cult following of RBG that I don’t get.
no one should be put on a pedestal like that
Although I too look for heroes – William O Douglas in his late years comes to mind although he may have had his shortcomings too but his thinking seemed to rise to an enlightened non ideological level in how he viewed justice that is inspiring….
And I believe that he would have been proud of Kaepernick for also rising to a level that honored the constitution and what it stands for.

polarbear4

yes.

William O. Douglas, in full William Orville Douglas, (born October 16, 1898, Maine, Minnesota, U.S.—died January 19, 1980, Washington, D.C.), public official, legal educator, and associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, best known for his consistent and outspoken defense of civil liberties. His 36 1 / 2 years of service on the Supreme Court constituted the longest tenure in U.S. history.

there was another thing that RBG did–maybe in a decision–i forget it now. she was better than many, if not most (of course now, most is a low bar), and certainly a trailblazer for being a woman of the jewish faith.

In response to detailed questions from The Daily Beast, Stein’s campaign issued a four-point statement of nearly 500 words. “Like many Americans who hold retirement accounts, pension funds, or who invest in the American economy,” the statement begins, “my finances are largely held in index funds or mutual funds over which I have no control in management or decision-making. Sadly, most of these broad investments are as compromised as the American economy—degraded as it is by the fossil-fuel, defense and finance industries.”

yikes. especially for her. I have like maybe $300 in a socially responsible fund, but if I had even tens of thousands, I would certainly investigate more thoroughly. And even little old me made sure it was a socially responsible one. i remember when i first switched, it seemed pretty good, but these things morph so often…

Well, I’m almost there.
The replies are excellent.

nice! i clicked on the live link in your comment and made it there. you may find the “copy link” is in a different place on your setup. it should copy it without the extra text and then it will fully post. i copied your live link and will post from your comment.

polarbear4

on mine, far right, under the tweet, there is a little up arrow in a square dish sort of, click that and one of the options will be “copy link.” copy and paste. let me know if it works.

p. s. Once you hit copy link a little sign will come up and say link copy to clipboard and you have already copied it just by hitting copy link. paste. :o)

polarbear4

a follow up that i haven’t listened to yet. probably a fun one where she calls people on air.

Will check it out in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep.

lol. so far, it is the part of the original one that deals specifically with making a call. would be great if halper actually made a brief script along with the most effective numbers, but hey, kudos to her for doing this much. It’s a little rambling, but I’ll try to make at least a call to Merrick Garland. In the video, you can press 1 and leave a message. wonder if they are listening or if that’s still available. if you live in New York, there’s numbers for that, and Nadler, Gillibrand and Schumer are all compromised, as Donziger explains in this.

talk about how newspapers count letters to editor, and after a certain number, they publish one of the letters. and a good list of numbers.

short video.

so silly, people in the comments saying they won’t do it bc Dems or bc Assange, and i’m encouraging them to put that aside. like will the peoples party join us in calling? will someone organize something similar for assange?

I was supposed to go the CAL next week for a wedding, but I cancelled our trip a few weeks ago. To think the bill is going to scrap all of climate change initiatives because our government “can’t afford it.”

polarbear4

frack. another high hopes for progressives holding out smashed.

polarbear4

and the beat goes on. naked capitalism said it long ago. dems also are in on privatizing medicare.
