Bernie News:

Bernie Stumps for Jane Kim, Prop 61 in California

Since 1998, they have spent more than $3 billion in lobbying and have made hundreds of millions in campaign contributions. They currently have 1,400 lobbyists on their payrolls in Washington, including former leaders of the Democratic and Republican parties,” Sanders said.

Proposition 61 is the only initiative on the November ballot in all 50 states that addresses drug companies raising prices on prescription medication, according to proponents of the initiative.

Opponents of Proposition 61 believe the reduced prices would only apply to a limited number of state drug purchasing programs, while excluding the vast majority of Californians and limit patient access to medicines while increasing taxpayer costs.

Television ads featuring Sanders supporting Proposition 61 are currently airing statewide.

Bernie was also in Seattle yesterday to rally support for Pramila Payapal, candidate for the US House. Whenever he mentioned Clinton’s name to show support for her candidacy, the crowd jeered.

“I’m going to do everything I can to see that Hillary Clinton becomes president,” Sanders said. The crowd booed.

Sanders was in town to help rally support for State Senator Pramila Jayapal, who’s running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Washington’s 7th district, but also used the stage to talk presidential politics. Sanders handily won the Washington primary this spring and drew huge crowds to rallies in Seattle during his presidential bid. At the Democratic National Convention, hardcore Sanders delegates from Washington participated in protests of Hillary Clinton and left dejected.

As both Jayapal and Sanders offered endorsements of Clinton, some applauded but others booed and heckled loudly.

“I know some of you aren’t that excited about it,” Jayapal told the crowd in response. “We were all supporters of Bernie. But let me tell you something. As an immigrant woman of color, I simply do not have the luxury to allow Donald Trump to get anywhere near the White House.”

At one point during Sanders’ speech, as referenced the “rigged economy,” someone shouted “they rigged you!”

This evening, Bernie and Sen Elizabeth Warren will hold a Stronger Together rally in Denver. That probably would be worth attending!

Bernie is keeping busy.

Some of the comments on the FB live feed indicate they want Bernie back!

Yes, this election is horrible, so we need a laugh!

The SNL “Trump Manager’s Day Off” skit was pretty funny too:

And The Onion’s always funny: “Newly Redesigned HillaryClinton.com Allows Users To Fully Customize Issues Page To Suit Own Preferences” :

Amy Goodman is Facing Prison Time for Reporting on DAPL.

On Monday morning, Goodman will be required to report to local authorities at the Morton County-Mandan Combined Law Enforcement and Corrections Center in Mandan, North Dakota. District Judge John Grinsteiner will then decide whether there is probable cause for the riot charge.

Goodman said of the fresh charges against her, “I came back to North Dakota to fight a trespass charge. They saw that they could never make that charge sick, so now they want to charge me with rioting. I wasn’t trespassing, I wasn’t engaging in a riot, I was doing my job as a journalist by covering a violent attack on Native American protesters.”

I found this to be a heck of an idea.
