Races Teeter on a Razor’s Edge Across the Country. Benny’s Bar is open for drinks, mocktails, and some tunes if you want to play the virtual jukebox. We will also have updates on the Mary Jane and psychedelics elections in various states ( MO, AR, MD, CO, ND, SD) and some localities in WI, TX, OH.
In answer to Orls question in the 11/7-8 thread; If the local DNC did their job properly they should have hit all 13 UW campus’s. Even though some are smaller then the 5 largest thats a lot of extra votes. Doesnt matter if some are in Red areas as we need every vote possible since the 2 major races arent gerrymandered to max like state races are.I think Evers has a shot at reelection, Barnes due to his race needs an Obama turn out to win. Raceism is very strong in this state- sadly espically in the rural areas. Even if he had the R behind the name here he would have trouble winning. 2020 had 3.2 million votes cast 1.63 million for Byedone, about 1.61 million for the cult.In 2008 Obama had 1.67 millon votes. In the 2018 midterm Baldwin had 1.4 million votes and had a 10 point blowout of her opponent. I figure if Barnes gets 1.5 million or so that may be enough or an Obama turnout he wins, Thiers not that many R’s in this state that vote to overcome that. Fingers crossed🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
I have heard/read nothing about the Indie vote. All the MSM screeches about is the GOPukes. I’m going somewhere else so I don’t hear the noize. Hubster is a vidiot. On top of it, we’re dealing with climate damage down here. Nicole is bringing us inland a lot of rain. The coast will be seriously eroded. At least, my oldest pal texted in from the Abacos. They are safe and hunkered down with friends. She predicted power would be out for at least 5-6 days.
Polls have just closed in the EST side of FL. My candidates Eskamani and Frost have huge early margins. 🙂 🙂 The big races won’t be called until the Panhandle closes at 8 EST (they’re CST).
Getting set to crash, fellow Birdies. Both Eskamani and Frost have won by double digits. 🙂 That was the best I could hope for. Frost will now be the youngest U.S. House Rep. Both Walker, Oz and that nitwit Vance are getting defeated. Mebbe the American people aren’t as stupid as the boring craporate media thinks.
NBC News: A polling place in Louisiana — one about 20 minutes outside of New Orleans — had to be moved from one school to another after a bomb threat, according to John Tobler, the deputy secretary of communications and outreach at the Louisiana Department of State. @MSNBC
Whether the MSM reports it or not, sh1t will be hitting the fan about those tactics. You can bet I would have raised cain and made sure I was moved somewhere where it was safe to vote. Grrrrrrr.
NBC NEWS EXIT POLL: More voters reported a downturn in their family finances this year than in any midterm since the end of the Great Recession, 46% said their family’s financial situation is worse than it was 2 years ago.
NBC NEWS EXIT POLL: 27% of voters say abortion is the most important issue to their vote; trails inflation as most important issue (32% of voters say inflation is most important).
NBC NEWS EXIT POLL: Majority of voters nationwide say they are disappointed or angry about Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade, including a plurality who say they are angry about it.
Congratulations to my new Senate colleague @WelchForVT on his resounding victory tonight. I look forward to continuing our important work together on behalf of Vermonters. https://t.co/SEcFTJedZm
Just checked the Chicago Trib. Pritzker is ahead nearly 2 to 1 and declared the winner for governor. In IL-13, my district, the seat is open, and the Dem is ahead over 2 to 1. Good chance it will flip blue. First time since I’ve lived in the area, and that’s been over 21 years.
I thought you were near Champaign. Isn’t Champaign Co. one of the downstate blue ones? We’ll be in the Peoria area, but not in blue Peoria County. A purple area. I didn’t see a lot of political signs except for local races, actually. I’ll have to check on how it’s unfolding there.
I’m in East Central IL, whereas you are in West Central IL. My district was always red. Tim Johnson was the GOP rep from 1998-2014. GOP Rodney Davis won 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020. Then the district got gerrymandered, and Davis chose to go to IL-15. He lost the primary to Mary Miller, a trumpkin, and she’s winning her seat tonight. I might add Davis voted not to overturn the 2020 election, which put him on Trump’s shit list.
I checked. We’re in the 17th Congressional, IL senate 46 and IL house 91. Mixed dems and reps. So much better than here. I am motivated to pack faster!
Phatkhat is here. Bleah. But not unexpected. This state is sooooo racist. And red. Jones made inroads, just like Booker in Kentucky. But the racism is real. Someday…
Hey phatkhat, my area just elected the youngest member to the U.S. House: Maxwell Frost. It wasn’t even a contest. He is Progressive but said it was the Parkland HS shooting that galvanized him. Before that, he was the usual ‘meh.’ Thought you all were splitting to IL. Good to hear from yas!! 🙂
OMG. My ex was from Wisconsin, and his dad was an Archie Bunker clone. Come to think of it, his mom was Edith, LOL. The whole family was kinda crazy except for his two brothers. One was gay, and a ton of fun, the other was a doctor in Milwaukee who was also totally out of place in the family. Dad would have been a MAGAt for sure. He worshiped Ronnie Raygun.
phatkhat, say hi to the Bennys when you all get settled. I ought to smuggle myself in your trunk. 🙂 Problem is Hubster is a rock solid FL cracker and moderate Progressive Demo. I’m the Leftie in the house. LOL.
Tip jar…
You inspired me, Ms. Benny!! 🙂
and
Turnout in Philadelphia looks like it will come close or equal 2018 turnout
Abortion is No 1 issue there

I expect a long night in WI i would be totally shocked if something was called tonight.
Polls have just closed in the EST side of FL. My candidates Eskamani and Frost have huge early margins. 🙂 🙂 The big races won’t be called until the Panhandle closes at 8 EST (they’re CST).
FROST wins per MSDNC

Wi has yet to chime in ,we’ll see how stupid we are up here

Yet they vote the GQP that were involved on Jan 6th back into office–i wont waste anymore time trying to figure that out.
I’m sad for Charles Booker. He gave it his all.
He gave KY voters a real choice. He can’t control the fact that they are stupid and uninformed.
Beasley has a pretty good lead with 44% of the vote counted. Let’s see if she can hold on.
Cheri Beasley
Dem. 971,360 +54.4%54.4%
Ted Budd
Rep. 784,633 +43.9%43.9
Very early onward she was ahead of Biden’s margins. Looks like she’s at his margin now, so it will be close.
My NC BFF voted for her today. 🙂
That’s where I’ve landed for reporting and commentating.
AP just called DeSantis for gov in Floridumb.
As expected, unfortunately for Orl but she knew it was coming. The gerrymander that death sentence did will flip the house by itself.
See above comment. Not all is lost plus I’m used to it. LOL.
Fetterman slaughtering Oz in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh vote
AP just called it for FL-Sen: Rubio.
On the governorship front, some good news:
Demings did her best but name recognition was a minus. Spico has plenty of it.
🙂

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
I might add the AP declared Duckworth easily winning her re-election. I did not vote for that race. She’s a warmonger.
Applauding and raising fist!!

AP has declared Sarah Huckabee Sanders as the new governor-elect in AR. Perish that thought.
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
sums it up
She might be a dumbo RWinger, but she is not DeSh1tface. Big difference.
If phatkhat was here, she would say, “figures.”
Phatkhat is here. Bleah. But not unexpected. This state is sooooo racist. And red. Jones made inroads, just like Booker in Kentucky. But the racism is real. Someday…
But voting here was our last official act. :o)

Thanks! The move is coming up. It’s hard with hubs working all the time.
It’s more sane in IL. Welcome!
Just dont cross the border to the north, it will remind yo of your old home

way to many Archie types up here
