Hi LD! How is job hunting going?
Once, if not twice, I’ve had replies to other comments disappear today. Just thought you might want to know. I talk too much anyway. 😉
Cheers!
Hi Mags–I only found one that disappeared and I got that restored (in the limited things I can do as a moderator).
And no, you don’t comment too much!
Cheers!
Thanks Benny! 🙂
no such thing as too much commenting. :O)
Sanders: Election ‘a referendum on the disastrous Trump administration’
I kind of wish Bernie hadn’t gone there. Absolutely Donald Trump and his predatory cabinet contributed to some of the Dem success the other day.
But I would have preferred if he downplayed that at least a little so the party isn’t complacent. I would have preferred if he highlighted the more progressive wins to balance out what Hillary and Biden did when they took credit.
I do like the fact that he brought up the “young people” though.
me too. more emphasis on the revolution.
See LD’s post of Bernie on AC360. Bernie brings up the political revolution there.
I would say the political revolution is under way. A little slower than perhaps we’d like but I also think Bernie would say it may take awhile. Look how long he championed progressive causes and was heard only on C-SPAN? Now he gets to be more selective about which shows to appear on.
Agree, 100%
Bernie Sanders ducks ‘rigged’ primary question, says his job isn’t ‘to look backward’
But, our job is to remember the past and make sure it is not repeated. Be aware that the Clintons have started a group to project and back Dem candidates for future elections. I would bet my last dollar they will be corporate dems to go against candidates backed by Our Revolution and Justice Democrats.
Yep, the Clintons have formed a new superPAC that is a hybrid so that their “Project Majority” can coordinate with the State parties. So far the reaction from one of the DNC members, Chris Reeves, says “so what” but to me this only adds to the mistrust of the Dem Party because Clinton refuses to allow it to evolve.
Sanders on whether primaries were rigged: ‘Our job is to go forward’
I don’t remember if I posted this yesterday, so here it is again if I did:
A Year After Trump, Democrats, Socialists, and Populists Sweep Elections
Our Revolution Candidates Won Big Last Night
Updated results from last night in Cambridge still show that 4 out of 5 OR candidates have won election to the 9-member board. Looks like they’re in
let’s hope they get the fifth.
Not only are the Republicans running scared but so are the corporate Dems running scared. See my above posts about what the Clintons plan to do about it.
Tuesday’s elections proved the power of America’s progressive grassroots
“The state Democratic Party dropped their financial backing for his campaign after he opposed a pipeline proposal from a massive Democrat-aligned energy company.”
Thank you, Carter, and all your backers!
The Left Had a Great Election Night. Will Democrats Take Advantage?
“The Democratic Party now owes a number of victories to leftist activists. The electoral possibilities of welcoming those activists into its vaunted big tent are too compelling for it to ignore. And doing so hardly means the party is sacrificing its support for women and for racial minorities, an argument that has always been a strawman. Tuesday’s results prove what leftists have long insisted: There is no real divide separating progressive populism from identity politics. A party that embraces one should embrace the other. Only then will it truly be the party of the people.”

If the Democratic Party wants to survive, it needs to get away from the DLC/Turd Way, period. These elections illustrated that we liberals/progressives/futurists can win without supporting Repukelican Lite. Lesser of two evils? The question should be: why are both these candidates evil? Where’s the choice? Anywho, T and R to the usual suspects!! 🙂
Good one orlbucfan!
See my remark above about how the Clintons are now building an organization to promote Democratic candidates. You can bet your bottom dollar they will be corporate Dems. They see how Our Revolution and Justice Democrats are promoting liberals and doing something to counteract their movements.

Sen. Sanders, DNC Official to Raise Money for Vermont Dems
I don’t know Welch, but I wish Leahy would return to his former, more progressive self. Or maybe I’m the one who moved farther left.
What about that guy is who is running as a Dem against Bernie in the election? Does that mean Bernie is raising money for that person’s opportunity to run?
Didn’t that guy already crash and burn?
Well he was one of only 5 Dems to vote against the bloated defense $ authorization
I think we are talking about someone else, not Peter Welch, who has succeeded Bernie as Rep and has performed very ably as VT’s sole congressman.

Wonder if Lee Carter also didn’t have access to VAN, or if the Dem Party provided one begrudgingly? I got the impression he persisted (eff the Clintonistas who stole that term, I’m stealing it back, they can’t have it) according to what I read in the New Republic (and that LD posted yesterday).
I know she’s a dark horse/long shot, but I would love to see Repukelican/DINO Manchin kicked out of office by the voters of this beleaguered state. Now, that would send a message to the .0001%!
I wish I was still living in the area and could help her campaign. She really needs to be hitting up the colleges/universities (Morgantown, etc) to inspire some youthful volunteers who can help produce content/make outreach to the crapton of small towns that populate the state.
Dear Paula… #WillWorkForRoomAndBoard
I’ve lived just across the border during my time working at a boarding school/rehab for teens with drug/emotional problems in rural Pennsylvania… and the people there are not too very different from those I was raised around/have spent most of my life with in Texas. Smart, hard working people who can be converted with a populist message, not insults and snarkish condescension.
grrrrrrrr.

Texas Democrat Aims To Unseat One Of Trump’s Most Loyal Congressional Supporters
Is that near where you live, LD?
Yes very close, I’m trying to make it to one of this upcoming events.
Also running in another district closeby (TX24) is Todd Allen, who I also had a meet and great event I was supposed to attend but that was the day I was told of my job disappearing, but will reschedule.
And finally I live in Arlington which is where Justin Snider, a Berniecrat and delegate is running for TX-6. I am in the process of making arrangements to get together with him and his campaign manager, so all in all, have quite a bit of local politicking to do !
Sources: AT&T, Time Warner under pressure to dump CNN
Trump’s DOJ wants AT&T/Time Warner to sell CNN or DirecTV before merger
Trump administration uses CNN as bargaining chip in Time Warner-AT&T deal
Sorry, am not buying this one. Do we want to just allow these media companies to merge without giving something up? Will we allow them to just get larger and larger and get back to a total monopoly?
Sell DirecTV if you guys want to merge so bad. Keep your precious CNN.
Honestly, I thought it was Democrats who used to resist these media consolidations. Now we’re defending them?
The only reason that the Trump administration is rejecting this is because Trump hates CNN. That is not an acceptable reason. They would never reject this kind of merger otherwise
Honestly? I don’t care what reason Trump’s admin is rejecting it.
These media mergers are out of control.
I do because I don’t think it’s appropriate for the president to punish media outlets he believes are critical
I’m not an either or on this one. But I don’t like the consolidation of media power and I don’t like diminishing the 1st amendment.
I’m wondering what will the end game be? 1 major news corporation or several owned by one corporation dictating what news is worthy–scary thought. I long for the days of Walter Cronkite and a few others.
True. Both are bad. Rock and. a hard place
