Correct, The Mrs. is in cook mode so i stay out of her kitchen, unless i’m cleaning up. Its a Balmy 6 degrees with a 15 below wind chill. with 4-8 inches of snow on the way and winds to range in the 25-30 mph range with 45 gusts . So that means that i’ll have snow drifts to deal with in the AM. Got all the holiday food supplies we need for the weekend so wont venture out till Monday most likley. Benny probably has the same condition going on, Wonder how Phat is handeling this weather?

Bitterly cold, exacerbated by the wind gusts 22-40 mph, making -2 feel like a balmy -25. The front bedroom windows look Xmas-y from very light powdery snow blowing on them for the past 30 hours. Makes me think of the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy:

From Down with Tyrany today,
Mondaire Jones Should Run For Congress Again– Here’s An Example Of Why We Need Him

Mondaire Jones is one of the best Members of Congress— really high quality. Unfortunately, Sean Patrick Maloney pushed him out of his district, sensing incorrectly that the appreciation voters there felt towards Mondaire would be easily transferred to an arrogant, conservative corporate whore like himself. He was wrong and the solid blue district flipped red, despite Maloney outspending his GOP opponent $6.7 million to 1.5 million.

Mondaire moved to Brooklyn and ran for a new seat in a very crowded race that pitted several solid progressives against each other and allowed a conservative Democrat to narrowly win the primary. Now Mondaire has been appointed to a 6-year term on the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. But… Mondaire has moved back to Rockdale County and is considering running for his old seat in 2024. I sure hope he does.

On Wednesday he wrote an OpEd for the Huffington Post that demonstrates what we should be looking for when we vote for candidates— and what effective governance is all about. Right after introducing a bill to rein in out of control right-wing activist judges, he wrote that these characters “are on a rampage against Democratic policies. Last month, tens of millions of eligible Americans were prevented from getting up to $20,000 of their federally held student loans canceled by President Joe Biden under his long-awaited debt relief program. Unfortunately, this setback to the Biden administration’s carefully-crafted, broadly popular executive order did not come from elected officials accountable to any American constituency. Instead, the hopes of millions of Americans with debilitating student debt were dashed by a single right-wing federal district court judge in Texas appointed by former President Donald Trump. Although the Biden administration has appealed this ruling, its long-overdue student debt relief program will now, at a minimum, be stalled for many months. This begs an important question: How can a lone Trump-appointed judge in Texas, through a single opinion, overturn the Biden administration’s meticulously planned executive order in all 50 states?”
