AOC has no problem about not being on the climate committee. She’s on much more important committees already

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said Thursday she does not feel House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) snubbed her by not putting her on a new special climate change committee.

“I truly do not. The Speaker was gracious enough to invite me on it,” Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive firebrand who began her congressional tenure last month advocating for significant shifts in climate policy, said on MSNBC when asked if she felt Pelosi had snubbed her.

She maintained that while she was offered a spot on the high-profile committee, her existing positions on other panels would have hindered her ability to fully engage on the select committee.

“So we announced our committee assignments. I did not know if I was going to be asked or selected for the select committee at that time, so I wanted to maximize my standing committee assignments. So I was able to get on financial services, which is one of just a handful of exclusive committees that freshmen almost never get on, and I’m on the environment subcommittee on oversight, which is also a very high-profile committee,” she said, adding that she was on another four subcommittees.

“I would have to give up doing my job well, is how I feel, and I don’t want to give that up.”

AOC not offended by Pelosi’s comments. She says GND is a green dream. She was very smart not to take the bait go after Pelosi.

She was politically gracious. Kinda like being nice to grandma who is out of touch with younger folks.

Cenk Uygur really ripped into Nancy Pelosi about her condescending remarks. If the TYT segment appears later this evening or tomorrow, I’ll post it.

Yeah Speaker Pelosi’s diss was divisive mean-spirited not a good look on anyone. She gave AOC yet another chance to demonstrate professionalism, grace and class.

I found an app that you can download on smart tv’s (and maybe your phone) called ‘Pluto’ that has free tv channels/shows you can watch. TYT has a channel there, though I think it plays stuff from the previous day.. I havent checked it out too much yet as I still youtube most things.

Well she also knows that Pelosi signed off on her (and Tlaib and Pressley’s) membership on Financial Services and Oversight so there’s that too. Best to be gracious and keep on Pelosi’s good side. Time is on AOC’s side in any case

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the plan’s lead sponsor, pushed back Thursday afternoon on the appearance of party infighting between senior Democratic leadership — namely Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) — and herself over how best to address the climate crisis.

Speaking alongside Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) during the highly anticipated rollout of her Green New Deal resolution, Ocasio-Cortez said the party was “100 percent in this together.”

“Nancy Pelosi is the leader on climate change, she has always been a leader on climate and I will not allow our caucus to be divided up on silly notions, we are in this together. We are 100 percent in this together,” she told reporters at the press conference. “We have different solutions, different mechanisms, different cars we have to drive to get there.”

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.), a co-sponsor of the Green New Deal measure and a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said it was typical for lawmakers to step on each other’s toes.

“There is a lot of space for people,” he said. “The select committee will do it a little different than the people who want to organize behind the Green New Deal. Every congressional committee has a role that they can play, and I think the more the merrier.”

“We’re Congress, we’re always stepping on toes, including our own. That doesn’t bother me,” Blumenauer added. “If we aren’t stepping on toes we’re not moving.”

It was the documentary that had all the buyers in a feeding frenzy — and was a favorite among attendees — at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and it’s going to be on Netflix.

On Thursday, the streaming giant officially announced that it had bought worldwide rights to “Knock Down the House,” which looks at four female progressive candidates through their campaigns during the 2018 midterm elections, and includes the run by Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

According to Deadline, the movie had everyone from Neon and Focus Features, to Hulu and Amazon, interested in nabbing it. But Netflix won out and had to pay a pretty penny. The trade reports the movie went for $10 million, which would be a record for a documentary buy at the festival.

At Sundance, the doc was a hit with the crowds, as the movie won the fest’s audience award.

So now he’s plagiarizing from Jebby?

If this is legit and really is unhackable, he wins back many, but not all, points.

It looks like they’re advocating for the same system that Oregon has, but it’s hard to tell, as it’s mostly vague words.

And there has been some criticism of our optical scanners. Still, has to be better than these remotely controlled things.

Hey, fam, we really are ahead of the times.

He just found out.

I just learned the other day that Stacey Abrams is a “lifetime member” of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations). Puts her joining CAP in a new light.

It’s more of an “I am on board” than most others.

Last one I’m off. :0)

I lied. Exposing the lies.

Plus the Red Cross warning that we are using “aid” as a Trojan Horse for military intervention. From the tweet below. I still am never sure if double tweets will both show or not.

For those who don’t click, Max says maduro lives in Caracas because they’re saying he lives and lavish life abroad.

Well our former Gov landed on the speaking tour:
Walker announced Thursday he would be joining Worldwide Speakers Group, which coordinates speaking engagements for former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

Walker’s speaking fee ranges between $15,000 and $25,000 per engagement. According to the group’s website, Walker’s speech topics include:
•Leadership Lessons: How big, bold reforms work.
•Insights on the current political (and future) landscape in America
•Crisis Management: How to turn a serious challenge into a major opportunity
•Power to the People: Sending resources and responsibilities to the states.
•The Power of Faith in Times of Crisis

It should read how to divide and destroy a state that had relatively clean reputation for politics. Anyway the Mrs should be happy as he now can make some real money. He just has to do two or so a month to double his old state salary just for starters. I wonder how many people will fork over $$$ to see this idiot speak as his run for president went so well.
