3/30 Special Post: Rally for Progressive Mayor Candidate Brandon Johnson
Greetings!
Tonight is the progressives’ rally for Chicago mayor candidate Brandon Johnson. The other speakers include Martin Luther III, Kwame Raoul (AG for the state of IL), Randi Weingarten, Rep Delia Ramirez (newest member of the Squad), and of course, Bernie.
The people of Chicago can elect in @Brandon4Chicago someone who knows the struggle of working families and will fight on their behalf every day.
I hope you can join me, Brandon, and @VicMensa for a rally in Chicago next Thursday night. pic.twitter.com/H9iccAYPtb

The YT for this is coming from the American Teachers Federation. I will post it below for your viewing pleasure.
Rally is at 7:30 pm.
This is an artist that visited LD’s town last night:
Thx Benny! Will post this weekend about this and other subjects! Seriously love ya all and it means the world you all show up despite my absence!
Harry mack is a master of words i encourage anyone to look up his work on youtube regardless of his genre and a pregiven thought on it. I dont think anyone else in the world can do what he does
Glad you’re still out there, it’s not too hard for the youngins to get discouraged as things continue to go backwards. It’s gonna take a hell of a fight from the future generations to turn things around in this country.

MLK III makes note of the significance of April 4th – the day of the runoff and the date of his father’s murder.
His comments are oblique in many respects. He’s attacking Republicans more, which have dumped a lot of money in Vallas’ campaign coffers. He refers to Vallas as an “established” person, rather than by name.
Rep Ramirez is on stage, and she’s warming up the crowd even more. She’s pretty engaging.
She’s attacking Vallas record of working in city educational systems, more about efficiency and most of the money going to charter schools. Ramirez is stressing neighborhood schools and diversity.
Hopefully, Johnson will get enough of their votes to win.
8:13 CT, Bernie takes the stage!
Crowd is happy, but also listening to him.
Haven’t heard anything new, Bernie is laying out the usual progressive themes. Difference now is Bernie has substituted the term “real estate speculators” for “billionaires”.
My comment was a double entendre, in case you didn’t catch it.
You know your way around those cyber sites.👏 Kudos and thanks for the hard work. Just getting Grim’s and Dayen’s attention is a double compliment. 👏
👏👏✊
Bernie’s influence over the young folks is just as potent as 2015. I have a feeling Johnson was a bit awed by it. They will come out and vote.🙂☮️
I think he was a little overwhelmed, but elated about the large turnout.
Voters can get informed and change it. Even in these troubled days.
I’m glad this is being broadcast because this is Johnson’s chance to shine; probably the biggest speech he’s ever given. His voice is a little hoarse.
