T and R, jcb!! Hope you are getting good weather up north. It’s hot but the humidity is low today. 🙂 They have an interesting Democratic Primary brewing in KY. I wish it was happening here. It will be Amy McGrath, DINO, and two long shot Progressives: Charles Booker (who you OT’ed a few days ago), and Mike Broihier who is backed by the Yang supporters. Here’s a link from (h/t) NC.

It sounds like there’s a lot of local/state anger brewing for Beijing Mitch. KY Democratic voters are lucky. They have 3 actual choices in their Senate Primary. Who would have thought that?

Beijing Mitch,Moscow Mitch and Yertle the Turtle, So many names for a putrid politician that keeps getting reelected, maybe this year Ky wakes up?…

Wouldn’t it be great if Yang’s crew joined to support Booker before the primary? I think Booker would be a lot better than McGrath. (I don’t know anything about Broihier)

Found this, from May 4th:

A progressive political group has endorsed Mike Broihier in this year’s race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

The endorsement from Indivisible Kentucky–the national group’s Louisville chapter–comes as Broihier and Louisville state Rep. Charles Booker jostle for the progressive vote in Kentucky’s June 23rd Democratic primary election.

Tbh, I’ve never really trusted Indivisible. Not since Charlottesville (Heather Heyer). I saw some questionable stuff coming from some Indivisble people in the days after that fateful day.

Broihier has also been endorsed by Indivisible Northern Kentucky, Indivisible Southeast Kentucky, and Indivisible Pennyroyal.

Broihier is another military person.

Broihier is a farmer from Lincoln County and retired Marine lieutenant colonel. Along with Booker, Broihier has run to the left of McGrath by favoring policies like “Medicare for all,” the Green New Deal and universal basic income.

Probably would be better if there was only one progressive to challenge McGrath?

The endorsement indicates a split among progressives looking for an alternative to McGrath. Booker was endorsed by Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, another statewide progressive political group, in early March.

There are 10 Democrats and eight Republicans running for the Senate seat this year.

Indivisible equals establishment more than progressive. Resistance.

I don’t trust them either.

Yeah, he sounds good but it is suspicious since his entry would split the more progressive vote.

Either Broihier or Booker would be good based on their stated positions, but if one doesn’t drop out and throw their support to the other it is a win for the corporate wing.

The KY Democratic Primary voters have choices. That was the point I was making. We in my state would faint if we had that this year.

Choices very rare here in CT too. They basically get anointed.

Too bad the progressives can’t come together for the greater good.

Do you think the Yang guy is in there to split the vote?

To many socialists, that is what Bernie Sanders was doing.

so how do we get Bernie to organize a pandemic Peace Corps to get food to people, instead of having them form lines 3 miles long, instead of having “security“ at the grocery stores.

Bernie needs his megaphone back. He may not be the nominee, but he can organize people like nobody else and we need that right now. We need rent and mortgages to stop and we need a UBI.

We need the right equipment getting to our people and we need testing.

so how can we get him back out here, organizing and demanding?

I just want to add that this is not about trying to get him to be the nominee. This would help Biden and hurt Trump. This is about saving lives now.
