Well at least there’s Senate debate somewhere.

https://thehill.com/news/senate/3501236-sanders-graham-set-to-square-off-in-new-debate-series/

Liberal firebrand Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Trump-allied Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) are set to square off next month in a policy debate at a full-size replica of the United States Senate in Boston.

The debate series is the brainchild of former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) who is hoping to rekindle the Senate’s tradition of debate and collegiality, which many senators feel has gotten lost in recent years as the use of filibusters has become more common to block debate.

Sanders and Graham are two of the most prominent members of the Senate and both gifted orators who have a knack for revving up their parties’ bases and infuriating ideological opponents.

The June 13 debate will be moderated by Fox News anchor Bret Baier and streamed on Fox Nation. It’s sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, the Orrin G. Hatch Foundation, and the Edward M. Kennedy Institute.

“The genesis was a number of organizations were having these conversations kind of separately and amongst ourselves,” said Bipartisan Policy Center President Jason Grumet of talk among the three sponsors about how to revive the spirit of constructive debate in Washington.

“Sen. Daschle was the catalyst. He is on the board of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute. He is also one of the founders of BPC. We’ve all been lamenting the loss of the constructive collision of ideas that has long been the basis of effective democracy.”

Sanders and Graham will debate each other at the Kennedy Institute, which includes a full-size replica of the U.S. Senate that is ordinarily used by visiting school groups to debate the major issues of the day.

The debate is scheduled for one hour and the topics will be announced a week before the event.

As much as I abhor violence, Sinema needs to be shot with a shit gun.

Or, better yet, hit with a well funded primary challenge, by a very progressive opponent. Who will rub her face right in it all.

Bernie will have a field day, Graham will need to see a chiropractor after all the flip flopping he’s going to have to do. This will be like a Jedi master against a storm trooper

The police are a government sanctioned band of roving right wing thugs. And like all thugs they fold in the face of any kind of resistance all all. Remember when the parading Nazis wilted, when confronted by counter protesting school girls? There’s a major lesson in here. Somewhere.

Ted Cruz Storms Out on British Interviewer When Asked Why School Shootings Only Happen in America

Cruz was attending a vigil for the victims of the Robb Elementary School shooting when he was grilled by Sky News reporter Mark Stone about overhauling gun laws in the U.S. The senator began by dismissing calls for reform by saying “It’s easy to go to politics.” He added: “The proposals the Democrats have? None of them would have stopped this.” (Cruz had earlier called to “harden schools” by fitting in new bulletproof glass and only having “one door into and out of the school” during a Fox News interview.)

But when Stone asked why there was an “American exceptionalism” when it comes to mass shootings, Cruz decided to wrap things up in a hurry. “I’m sorry you think American exceptionalism is awful,” he said, patting the reporter on the chest, adding: “You know what? You’ve got your political agenda, God love you,” before walking away from the TV crew.

Stone went after Cruz, saying he “can’t answer” why mass shootings are a uniquely American problem. Visibly angry, Cruz replied:

“Why is it that people come from all over the world to America? ‘Cause it’s the freest, most prosperous, safest country on earth.

Stop being a propagandist,” before heading for the exit once again.

Cancun Cruz should look at this chart by the Humam Freedom Index. The top countries have one thing in common 🙂

I wonder how a single door would affect things like, oh, I don’t know, fire evacuation? Or, maybe, clearing the place out because there’s an active shooter???

These people aren’t even remotely making sense anymore. It’s as if they have some sort of plan to retain office despite the will of the voters.

Please pardon the sarcasm, but it’s what I can muster right now.

(Normally the deadline for military/overseas ballots would be Monday, but since that's a holiday, it's Tuesday. The local canvass deadline is then Thursday. That's the day counties have to report their final numbers to the state.)

Sounds like a FUBAR by the police, all the money they spend on military hardware was totally useless. Someday they’ll shoot a parent trying to go in on one of these situations. Maybe the parent will have his CC and do the polices job for them.

The NRA is a shell of its former self, the nuttier members dream of the day that the “Purge” movie series would become law.
