Is anyone able to watch this? I’ve been on the live.berniesanders.com website, watching the white “spinning wheel of death” for 20+ minutes and nothing. So annoying! 😣

A Democratic Pennsylvania state representative went on a righteous tirade in a 12-minute video after learning that the Republican speaker of the House informed his party but not Democrats that at least one member of his caucus tested positive for COVID-19.

“Every single day of this crisis this State Government Committee in Pennsylvania has met so that their members could line up one after one after one and explain that it was safe to go back to work,” Rep. Brian Sims said on Facebook Live on Wednesday night. “During that time period, they were testing positive. They were notifying one another. And they didn’t notify us.”

According to Sims, Democrats only recently became aware that a Republican colleague tested positive for the virus but continued to work in the capitol for at least a week. Sims angrily yelled into the camera accusing Republicans of endangering members, their staffs, and their families.
“I’m right now surrounded by members that can’t go see their kids, that are having to call their husbands, having to call their wives and saying, ‘Honey, I might have exposed you and everybody I love in the world because one of my colleagues tested positive, but he was protecting his family but not protecting mine, and Republican leadership protected him,’” Sims raged, at times pounding on his desk to emphasize his points.

Their oppressors have been learning from one another for years.

I got this book at library book sale. It had been on shelves and it looked new. Bought it because a man I knew at Bell Labs said that his dad had been the model for the attorney in Richard Wright’s novel “Native Son”.

Contrast somewhat from 30’s, 40’s, 50’s of black relations in the USA through the life and literature of Richard Wright. Black people can go into a restaurant in DC and rent a room in that Southern city.

Sad to see police murder of yet another black man. And now the riots which play into what is happening right now in the country with a racist in chief.

Interesting to read about living conditions – houses with several families renting rooms, famous people in and out of the story, abject poverty, reading out loud drafts of material, leftists politics explicitly communism and Com. Party USA, FBI, CIA, tracking to make sure not make anti american comments in other countries, etc

And an extremely well written book which draws from published and unpublished works to lay out the life and times of Richard Wright. Recommend the book

Richard Wright: The Life and Times
by Hazel Rowley

I have not read his work. Only in the last couple of years have I been into fiction.

As an English major, I read both James Baldwin and Richard Wright. Both are great writers irregardless of race. Read them both if you get the time.
