Nina’s concession speech, courtesy of TYT.
As tough/cynical as I am, I can’t bear to listen to her. I’ll break down in tears, and I don’t need that right now! 🙁
Actually, it’s pretty uplifting after Nina being restrained during the primaries.
The Fate of Abortion Rights Rests Not in D.C. but in the Statehouses
“But it does mean that if the party is serious about protecting reproductive rights and a host of other rights that are now threatened, electing pro-choice governors, state attorneys general, and state legislators will become essential.”
Hey Pelousy -Schumer this means you need to go all in on progressives as well- thats where you fail!!
Pelosi and Schumer are tools of the oligarchy, wholly owned by Wall Street. The oligarchs want ’em barefoot and pregnant. Oh yes, and shackled, bound, and gagged. Don’t expect progress from a stone. These regressives need to be replaced by progressives. Wherever they hide.
A thankful (as always) T and R x 2, Ms. Benny!! 🙂 What “Progressives” is ole Cenk referring to? Not the ones on here, and we are the real deal!
He is referring to us. I’m curious as to why we wouldn’t be the progressives he speaks of.
Yeah, well, I don’t do much video so I hold my opinion. But, I stay active, volunteer, get and stay informed, and vote! What about this horse hockey with the War Dept.? Climate catastrophe? M4A? BTW, I’m working on get-out-the-vote postcards today. Only thing slowing me down is age–natural law.
TYT furnished $200K in ads for Nina’s race and tried to get volunteers out in the field. Chances are Nina will return to TYT.
I’m not convinced she will do it, but I’m glad she’s not sulking after such a whallop her campaign took.
She’s going to do something. I know she doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in you-know-where to win the WH. But, I would be absolutely thrilled to work and vote for her as an Indie. I am really fed up with all the corruption and stupidity of the FRIGHTIES. You been reading about that Alito draft? He’s not only a religious fanatic; he makes a rock look like Einstein.💩
LD: we need you here. You’re our TX eyes and ears, just like I’m Floridumb’s. (UGH!)
as i try to with wis-sis-consin
“Fate Makes Strange Bedfellows.” “Karma Is A Bitch.”
Sure that way he wouldn’t have to go thru an expensive divorce 🙂 , lots of legal questions to be sorted out if the USSC or states do that.
She’s probably an automaton. She certainly acts like it.
Thomas needs to be impeached for her antics alone. Alito, Barrett, and Kavanaugh lied in their hearings. That, too, is an impeachable offense. This has got to be the dumbest SCOTUS in my lifetime. And the dumber, the more destructive.
I wasn’t there was a JD Watch group. Looks like some kind of Super PAC affiliated with the Dems.
Could be a convenient smear tactic, too. GOPukes/Turd Wayers have PhDs in this kind of sh1t! Plus, look at the timing–how convenient. Old fart Cuellar is worried about something.
Nope not giving them a cent 🙂
Yeah, we’ve come a long way, baby! (snark)
Someone on TRMS pointed out that if Florida triggers to automatically ban abortion care, a one way trip for a person is 575 miles to the nearest facility.
No sh1t. It’s always been hard to get one even after Roe. I got one in 1986. I knew something was up and why after about 1 week. Went to my excellent but conservative female gyn a couple weeks later. Yep. She referred me to an excellent clinic. No problems, except I had one helluva reaction to the drugs they had to use in the medical procedure. Glad I did it, and never got in that position again.
Your decision to do that didn’t affect any rights that i have-not one bit, you did what was best for YOU and that’s how it should be for everyone.
Both of you said it well.
🙂 🙂
There’s a very good possibility that 2 decent Democrats (oxymoron?) will win Senate seats. Watch PA and OH. If Fetterman wins the Demo nod in PA, he will win that seat. And the Tim Ryan-JD Vance race in OH? Also, Floridumb doesn’t primary until August. It looks like Rubio will face Val Demings. She is an AA ex-cop, moderate conservative Demo. Her husband, Jerry, is the Mayor of Orange County. He is a hero to a lot of central FL progressives like me cos he has stood up to DickSantis over Covid precautions and the WDW mess. That’s going to count come Primary time. Add in abortion. It won’t be a cakewalk for Rubio.
Food for thought.

“LP: If you were a medieval woman operating as an herbalist, consulting on abortions and contraception, you might have a thriving business and some economic independence. In times of economic turmoil, was the persecution of women for witchcraft a convenient way to bring the economy back into the hands of men?
JR: It’s terrible to think of men doing that, but they do. Men have the notion that they have the power to reproduce, and they don’t want that power taken away from them. They associate that power with the economy and the well-being of the community.”

Man, we straight women have had one interesting time thanks to Mother Nature.
Hoping Wi can pull off the upset in WI. If by chance R v W drives turnout, We have a chance. But the R’s here would go on a Battan death march to vote. D’s here just aren’t that dedicated
Look at all the empty seats around him. That speaks mountains. 🙂
That’s the new normal in the Senate floor.
Horsesh1t. Which so-called “Progressive” groups?
CPC, of which Jayapal and Pocan are co-chairs.
I tend to agree. I’ve known she was running, but did not even know her election was coming up until this week. Why weren’t progressive groups spreading the word and going to bat for one of our staunchest champions?
I guess it depends on where you look for information. We’ve been talking about it here ever since Nina announced her second attempt. If you mean the Daily Kos, unfortunately, 75% of the denizens there despise Nina because of her work with Bernie Sanders. If you look at Caucus99, well with all due respect, they are agnostic.
In general, my knowledge of the race this year was much less than it was of her attempt last year. Does that match with your experience?
A GOPuke getting creamed in his House re-election blabbed about how the Parties including the Dodocrats have to pay money to chair committees now. It used to be based on seniority, but not no more. Now, it’s the big bribe bucks. Sickening, huh?
Its the American way Greed greed and more greed.
