China.
As suspected, Biden was keen to get the leaders at the G-7 conference on board with his aggressive stance on China.
White House officials have said Biden wants the leaders of the G-7 nations â the U.S., Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Italy â to speak in a single voice against forced labor practices targeting Chinaâs Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minorities. Biden hopes the denunciation will be part of a joint statement to be released Sunday when the summit ends, but some European allies are reluctant to split so forcefully with Beijing.
China had become one of the more compelling sublots of the wealthy nationsâ summit
Some not as enthusiastic as Biden and his team.
Not every European power has viewed China in as harsh a light as Biden, who has painted the rivalry with China as the defining competition for the 21st century. But there are some signs that Europe is willing to impose greater scrutiny.
Merkel, for her part, downplayed differences on China and the Nord Stream 2 pipeline which would transport natural gas from Russia to Germany, bypassing Ukraine.
Macron told Biden that collaboration was needed on a range of issues and told the American president that âitâs great to have a U.S. president part of the club and very willing to cooperate.â
A differing viewpoint from Biden’s down below, along with some other stuff I saw today.
I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! Decent weather here in CT, not too hot. Cheers!
China’s spokesperson was succinct:
Per The Guardian, the Chinese embassy in the U.K. released a statement Saturday directed at the G7 that said “the days when global decisions were dictated by a small group of countries are long gone.” Now, the statement continues, “there is only one system in the world, that is, the international system with the [United Nations] at the core and the international order based on international law.” In other words, Beijing is telling the G7 that it’s old news.
anyone hearing an empire wheezing? t&r mags
American corps sold thier souls for cheap labor(no Unions)and less enviro-regulation (Pollute at will) decades ago to do business in China. The results ,The standard of living in the US drops and thier profits increase. The result is the US is a retail/food service economy for a lot of Americans
The MICCâs two boogeymen: China and Russia. How convenient. đ©đ€ź
Did you hear we have a new ocean now?

Peru’s election remains intense.
We all know that “fighting communism” has been a well-used justification over the years for many past actions around the world. Let’s see if it works this time.
oh Frack
Figures. Every very close election attracts the FRightwingnut cheating swarm like flies to đ©.
Speaking of the G-7, apparently Joe Biden violated protocol last night when he arrived at dinner after the queen.
Now it turns out that Biden isn’t the first one to make that faux pas, Trump also did it, and, well, I think that’s pretty rude actually.
On the other hand, I honestly cannot see myself calling Elizabeth, ‘Her Majesty’, a phrase considered acceptable, without gagging! Can we please move into the 21st century already?
Jen Psaki also blew it the other day:
No thanks!
I must admit I found it somewhat amusing that The Washington Examiner took issue with Joe’s violation:
Lol, give me a break, I thought conservatives were glad this country became ‘independent’ from Britain! Now you’re upset that The Queen might be offended??
For a real old duffer of 90+, sheâs in pretty good shape. Guess itâs all that royal healthcare. Iâm surprised SloMoJoe remembered he was due there.đ
Lol, she is in good shape for 95 though. She apparently stole the show at yesterday’s photo shoot cracking wise asking if they were supposed to look as if they were enjoying themselves.
I the clip you can see Biden violating protocol again with his back to the queen as she walked to the photo shoot platform. One must never turn one’s back on the queen! lol
Here’s a different view on Biden’s aggression towards China from Tom Engelhardt:
China has its own internal problems. Cos it is historically a closed society, Xi has no problems shutting down the media. He is beginning to have headaches with the young and their skill with 21st century social media.
Putin laughs when asked by NBC reporter if he’s a ‘killer’
Well, he was trained by whatever passes for the CIA now so heâs familiar with murder tactics.
Putin was in the KGB for 16 years so i’m sure he picked up a thing or two
Wow, Adams:
“you could have one great teacher that’s in one of our specialized high schools to teach three to four hundred students, who are struggling in math with the skillful way that they able to teach by using the new technology of remote learning you don’t need children to be in the school building with a number of teachers, it’s just the opposite”
yes..you “could” have that one great teacher, or you could be overwhelmed and pretty much ignored while you keep falling behind.
I don’t know about you all, but the idea that my high school class size was 300-400 students sounds pretty awful.
Plus what about the fun parts of high school?? The high school dances, flirting with the cute guys (in my case), friendly banter with your buds, hearing your friend play violin in the locker room, learning to negotiate social pressures, playing volleyball, cutting class on a warm spring day with your best friends, smelling all the smells at biology and chemistry labs, hearing great music in the cafeteria, etc.
(but please know that the Matt Skidmore account is a Yang operative, so has his own agenda)
From a retired math teacher, Eric Adams is a jackass.
Both Yang and Adams are a couple of RWing zeroes. They sound more and more like the political garbage down here in Dumbshine-ville. đ©

Hmmmm, take a peek at the attached screenshot-looks like I’m not the only one checking to see what time Israel’s voting begins! (9am est)
(All I did was type in ‘4pm’, the local time in Israel when the voting begins, check out the first suggestion from google)
NYT will be following the voting in Israel’s parliament live here. It’s expected to be a “perilously thin” margin for whomever wins.
Chaos breaks out in the Knesset as Bennett speaks.

Going back to 2010 to measure progress?? Creative! in a deceptive and evil kind of way.
This part a bit hazy,
but anything we can do to preserve biodiversity is welcomed news to me. I hope they follow through.

What an egomaniac! No wonder he and Trump got along.
