This is not acceptable but this is how Trump does things!

The co-director of the White House’s “Operation Warp Speed” will not be required to divest his investments in pharmaceutical companies and will not be subject to federal disclosure rules, according to a decision by a government watchdog.

Advocacy groups Public Citizen and Lower Drug Prices Now filed the complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) because Moncef Slaoui, who leads “Operation Warp Speed,” has extensive ties to the pharmaceutical industry.

However, his position in the administration is on a contract and he is not considered a government employee. As such, he is not subject to the same federal disclosure rules that would require him to list his stock holdings.

The groups wanted Slaoui to be classified as a government employee, or “special government employee,” so he would be required to disclose all of his ties to drug companies and divest in potential conflicts of interest.

In a brief letter to the groups announcing the decision, the inspector general focused on the definition of “special government employee,” which is a title given to an outside expert appointed for up to 130 days.

Biden’s teleprompter gives a speech on school reopenings.

Former Vice President Joe Biden rolled out his plan to safely reopen schools amid the coronavirus pandemic on Friday as the debate over the issue rages across the country.

“If I’m elected president, our students and educators are going to have all the tools and resources they need to succeed, to get us through COVID-19, to build the strong, resilient schools we need so that every child has a chance to succeed in the 21st century,” Biden said in a video announcing his blueprint.

Biden’s plan states that in order for schools to reopen, the virus must be under control in the U.S. The campaign said that this involves an increase in nationwide testing and contact tracing as well as a stable supply chain to ensure the production of personal protective equipment (PPE). Additionally, Biden said that older and high-risk individuals should be protected and small businesses should be provided with the resources to open safely.

If this guidance is a prerequisite the schools may never open but it will score some points.🤔

You can see in the image how the teleprompters are hidden.

My sis quit teaching this year. This is a disaster, BUT…bitch Betsy DeVos will love it!! Let’s finish off destroying public education!!

Probably best for her health, Some simple math, Last year the norovirus hit hard last winter up here. Schools were hit hardest teachers and staff getting sick with some closures. On a average day a teacher will do 6 classes 25 -30 kids rotating in and out so around 180 kids a day for a teacher. Then all the kids are moving in the hall ways between classes so in the case of our local HS that’s 2000+ kids in the crowded hall ways. No wonder it spreads in a school setting.

Sis is one of those rare teaching jewels: she loves it. She and my BIL (couple of pragmatic math brains) are set for retirement, and well off. She said she hasn’t formally retired. She is just not interested in walking into a “Petri dish.” She is waiting on 2021.

I had two teachers that were special to me as i went thru k-12 one was teaching a political science class , he was passionate yet let you decide if you were left or right, i never could pick a side as i didn’t fit in on either. i guess that why i’m a life long indy and consider myself a futuristic progressive
