It’s not just black, brown and yellow women who are suffering through this royal private bank ripoff, it’s white gals, too. I paid off every one of my student loans, and I am behind student loan forgiveness 1000%!
Nice to see this get covered in regards to the gop and fetterman, but would of been nice had they covered basically the exact same thing by the DNC to Bernie post heart attack.
Oz is such a stupid, snooty joke. I would be considered part of the PMC as I have all of the qualifications, believe me. I know what crudité means. Worse, his base is Pennsyltucky. He’s way, way off the mark. The only thing he has is Trump’s endorsement, and maybe there the ad could contrast Oz and Trump, slobbering down a Big Mac.
A GOPPER, pushing vegetables??? I can’t wait to see how stuff like this goes down, in November! I can see the ad now, transposing Mr Crudite, with Michelle Obama, trying to get kids to eat healthier. Or, maybe, Fetterman, eating a cheesesteak. Either would be very effective.

Actually, it makes more sense then you think.
Pell Grant recipients are from low-income families. (I was a Pell Grant recipient in college for this reason) But today’s Pell Grant amounts have not caught up with CPI to pay for all of tuition and fees. Even if it were enough, there’s housing and food, transportation costs etc. Thus, Pell grant recipients have to borrow funds to cover those costs. But Pell Grants were designed to cover mainly tuition, books, and a few extras for undergraduates; graduate students either hope to get scholarships, but more often than not, they have to borrow heavily, especially those in professional programs.
Housing is a big problem, as college slum lords charge over the top rents for places that are on the cusp of being condemned or worse.
Ah, yes. Student housing, I remember it well.

There are also those complaining who ‘saved their whole lives, and paid the bill for their kid’s college’. Yes, yes… it’s very nice and good for you that you were able to do that. It’s not the same as a modern student, emerging with a new degree, trying to find work from under an overwhelming pile of debt. This is exactly how the wealthy maintain their privilege despite lesser competence. When I went to school I was able to work my way through, and cover my basic living expenses with part time jobs. That’s not possible anymore, either. I know it’s been awhile, but we need to stop defaulting to the ‘me’, and start getting to the ‘we’.

I’m disturbed but if the town decided to shut down the library, it means it doesn’t value its services. What’s the point of having a decent public library if all the trustees are harping on the library’s back about removal of books that offend religious right wing types.

I was disappointed that Fried lost the governor’s D Primary here. Crist is a washed up bad joke. Deyou-know-what will chew him up and spit him out come November.💩💩🤮🤮 But my turkey skin old tail feathers are doing a happy dance.🙂🙂 I have, count them, 2 young Progressives to vote for in November!!👏👏👏👏 Anna Eskamani who ran unopposed in her FL House re-election race, and newcomer Matthew Frost. Frost is a young AA Progressive. He ran on the getting guns under control/ the Parkland HS murder spree issue. He also supports M4A and is up on climate chaos. He will win our U.S. House district. He beat a bunch of other candidates including old timers like Corrine Brown. Val Demings won the Senate primary-no surprise. Rubio is sweating bricks, too. Heh-heh-heh. So, it wasn’t too sickening down here even though the turnout was abysmal: less than 25% of eligible voters.
Tuesday wasnt all bad news for a change,but a long way to go.

Public education is infrastructure. It needs to be as strong as we can make it. Anyone who can handle the load should receive an education. Period.
