But they didn’t lock any of his accounts for pictures of his followers molesting and threatening a US Congresswoman or showing his opponent’s name on a headstone.

Twitter locks Mitch McConnell campaign account for posting video of protesters at his home

Twitter locked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign account after it posted a video of activists making threats against the Kentucky Republican at his home.

Twitter locked the account Wednesday, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. The social media giant has told the campaign that the account will remain locked until the video of protesters is deleted.

Tyrannocaster

Twitter is always being accused by the right of having a leftist bias, so I guess that’s why they allow rampant hate speech from Trump & Co.

Sorry WindDancer – hadn’t seen your comment! Cheers

WindDancer13

Yes, I know who it is, and almost did not click on the link, but this actually makes sense. However, it also needs to be applied consistently and often and extended to the personal accounts of police officers and chiefs who commit or allow murder (not the departments as those are taxpayer funded and we would only be suing ourselves).

Personally, I would like to see it also applied to politicians whose salaries are paid by taxpayers but who do not fight for what their employers hired them to do. In the real world, contractors CAN be sued for non-performance.

Twitter locks Mitch McConnell’s campaign account for posting video that violates violent threats policy

Twitter locked Mitch McConnell’s campaign Twitter account, Team Mitch, for posting a video of a profanity-laden protest outside of the Republican senator’s home in Louisville, Kentucky.

The account has not posted since Tuesday.

can’t tell if the “violent” protesters were hired to do that

non violence requires discipline and most protests do not have authority figures

and since the goal of fascists is to increase all kinds of violence, and to use that to repress dissent as well to support their goons, this is a tricky issue

polarbear4

true i always suspect sabotage. have to admit, though, there is way too much trash talk of violence from lefties on Twitter, at least, I am a jewel (haha—voice 2 text for imho!)

Check this out. You know how this week it’s all been (in the financial world) China, China, China?

Here’s Bernie back in 2000:

And what was Biden up to at the time? (you might wonder)

” Nor do I see the collapse of the American manufacturing economy, as China, a nation with the impact on the world economy about the size of the Netherlands’, suddenly becomes our major economic competitor. ” – Joe Biden, September 2000

“This growing prosperity for the Chinese people, in turn, has put China on a path toward ever greater political and economic freedom.” – Joe Biden arguing for normal trade relations with China in Sept 2000

congress.gov/crec/2000/09/1…

What political freedom has occurred since?

Do a ctrl-f find for Biden’s name at that link-you’ll find more doozies from Biden.

yes he has a long statement entered in the record in support of normalizing trade with China

That “Take down the billionaires” video is great. Thanks!

This is what you get from a reality show President.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/456714-video-shows-trump-touting-rally-crowd-size-during-el-paso-hospital

President Trump is seen in newly released video recounting the crowd size at his rally earlier this year in El Paso while speaking to hospital workers in the city who treated victims of a recent mass shooting.

Local news stations in El Paso tweeted out the footage on Thursday, saying it was recorded by an individual who was present for Trump’s visit the previous day to the University Medical Center of El Paso.

“They’re talking about you all over the world. The job you’ve done is incredible,” Trump told hospital workers.

Trump then noted he was in El Paso for a campaign rally earlier in the year and began talking about the crowd size, a subject the president often touts when speaking to supporters.

“I was here three months ago and we made a speech,” Trump said. “What was the name of the arena? That place was packed.”

The president then shook hands with a man off camera who said he was in the front row of the February rally, with the president then knocking “crazy Beto.” Trump and Democratic presidential hopeful Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) feuded in the lead-up to Trump’s visit.

“Take Down the Billionaires video”–

What is going on here? What does “parody” mean?

Partner thinks this video is a “plant”, in other words it comes from some anti-Bernie camp. Maybe from the “billionaires. . .and also the millionaires.”

I kinda like the video but at the same time I’m alarmed or something. . .

. . .because the video presents Bernie as a megalomaniac, a self-glorifier, and suggests that his policies are pie-in-the-sky.

???? Bernie’s a left-wing Trump?? Oh, come on!

Best to the TPW-ers!

WindDancer13

My first reaction to it was that it was anti-Bernie and figured I would have to watch it again to see why I got that impression. I haven’t had time yet, so had not planned to comment on it until I have a chance to do so. Well, until now . . .

Tyrannocaster

I thought it was great. If its point was to make Bernie look bad, it failed utterly. They could have done the hair better, though.

An anti-Bernie video would have been a lot less nuanced, unless I’ve lost my mind – always a possibility.

However, if there is considerable debate about whether it is pro- or anti-Bernie, then it’s possible to argue that it is not a successful piece.

polarbear4

i didn’t watch cuz didn’t like the title (and time).. not going to, now.

Matt Duss:

Read this thread. Anti-Palestinian/pro-occupation Democrats are planning to try and defeat @RashidaTlaib (and talking some really racist trash about the Squad). Progressives need get ready to step up and defend.

phatkhat

Ah, the DNC supports the incumbents, always. Unless, of course, they are progressives.

WindDancer13

I had not seen this part of the interview before (the latest version of “very fine people”). Some people are incapable of change.

WindDancer13

Nice analysis of Biden’s lack of policies and what that means if he is nominated.

WindDancer13

Cool! I am not the only one bothered by Harris’s echo of HRC’s 3:00 AM fear mongering. I posted a comment on this a couple of days ago and was beginning to wonder if anyone else was seeing it. Yes, someone is!

A NYT article without the paywall.

Hmmm, might be an idea to see who is NOT showing up in Iowa. Just a guess would be moderates who might draw votes away from Biden (as instructed by the DNC?).

Biden’s Biggest Weakness? Iowa. But Some Rivals Don’t Seem to Know It.

On April 3, Joe Biden held 30 percent of Democratic support in national polls. That week, he faced allegations that he touched women without their permission. And over the next few months, he faced criticism over his attempted rapprochement with Anita Hill; his reminiscences of his past closeness to white supremacist senators; and his at times halting performances in two debates.

After all that, Mr. Biden is essentially where he started: with 31 percent of the vote in the RealClearPolitics average. His resilience in the polls makes many of his seeming weaknesses — at age 76, he has a long record for his rivals to attack — seem not as serious as many believe. But he has one weakness, of a very different kind, with the potential to unravel his candidacy: Iowa

Mr. Biden will be there Thursday for the start of the Iowa State Fair, which draws a parade of primary candidates every four years. He enters at 24 percent in Iowa polls, according to the RealClearPolitics average, seven points less than he holds nationwide. As the first contest in the nation, the Iowa caucuses present a natural opportunity for a candidate to emerge as his principal rival early next year, and perhaps knock him back in the polls for good measure.

But for now, some of his rivals seem less interested in taking advantage of the opening in Iowa than in exploiting his record on the debate stage. Many candidates are making a concerted effort in Iowa, but not all of the major candidates have been especially focused on the state.

The cause of Mr. Biden’s weakness in Iowa is fairly obvious: His national edge is mainly attributable to a wide advantage among black voters, and relatively speaking, there aren’t many black voters in Iowa. African-Americans represented a mere 4 percent of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 supporters in Iowa, according to Upshot estimates. (They represented 22 percent of her support nationwide.) The latest Quinnipiac poll gives Mr. Biden a mere three-point lead nationally among white voters, who could make up around 90 percent of the caucus vote in Iowa.

The state’s Democratic voters are also relatively young, and caucuses tend to favor ideologically consistent, progressive candidates with highly engaged grass-roots support.

Most of the rest of the article breaks down who is and is not showing up there.

polarbear4

we know they gather and plan. makes sense to me. I hope someone recirculates that league story about the planning meeting. I’d be willing to bet there are more, but people need to know that we’re not just pulling it out of thin air.

I mean, if you’re serious about winning the presidency, you have to go to Iowa. They are spoilers.

oh geez, I feel like Joe Biden! Cancel what I said about the video. I actually RT‘d it a while ago. I thought it was a young guy who genuinely loved Bernie but I also saw him as being quirky -– I could see how it could look like he was dragging him, but I thought of it more as maybe representing traits that very young people actually see in him, while still being 100% for him because of his policies. Maybe not.
