tbh, If this is a discussion, she should’ve stepped down when Obama was in power. Rest in power, RGB

NYCVG

I absolutely agree with this view.

RBG wanted to hand her seat to Hillary. That to me is hubris, pride and, this is the karma.

Mitch will do what he lives for—-exercising his power. There’s at least some chance he can be stopped.

My bet is no Cotton. Too big of a flashpoint for the FRighties. It will be someone very similar though. Court is already packed and has been for the last few years.

If these four hold firm, they won’t be able to fill it. If anything, this battle will ensure a super high turnout election.

But not everyone in McConnell’s caucus is onboard for such a power grab. And Democrats are warning that if the Senate Majority Leader breaks his own rule, he’ll find that his judicial legacy is more vulnerable to change than he’d wagered.

On Monday, Republican senator Lisa Murkowski said that filling a Supreme Court vacancy before 2021 would be “a double standard,” and she “would not support it.” Her GOP colleague Chuck Grassley, meanwhile, told NBC News that he also felt filling a vacancy would violate the party’s 2016 standard and that he “couldn’t move forward with it,” were he still the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Political threats will be made by the turtle behind the scene to the R senators on the fence. Trumpcorps base has been wishing for RBG to die for quite a long time, they are in full celebration mode now.

With Graham’s support of Trumpcorp don’t count on it.

I’m counting on three Republicans to oppose so its 50/50 and Pence can cast the deciding vote. Kabuki

Sincerely hope I’m wrong

Paul ADK

He’s running this year, there’s the ad against him. This is not going to play out to the GOP’s advantage.

Even if Byedone did nominate a judge i expect him to nominate a center righty, certainly not a progressive one

It will be someone moderately socially liberal, like Kagan and Sotomayor, but neoliberal economically. Can’t derail the gravy train for the elites.

President Trump has released a list from which the next appointee will be selected.

It is now time for Joe Biden to do the same. There must be one as filling a seat in the next term has always been much more than a hypothetical.

Or might it be too revealing to take a position more than being not-Trump?

After all then-Senator Joseph Biden was chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee overseeing the Clarence Thomas nomination and he has received much deserved criticism for his handling the testimony of Anita Hill and refusal to hear corroborating testimony of three other women, as well as losing control of his committee.
