Problem for Bernie but not Beto? This is another poll with a small sample and pretty high margin of error.

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/435520-buttigieg-surges-to-third-place-in-new-iowa-poll

South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) surged into third place in a poll of the Iowa caucus released Sunday.

Eleven percent of likely Democratic Iowa caucus-goers surveyed by Emerson Polling said that they would pick Buttigieg to be their 2020 presidential nominee.

Overall, Buttigieg placed third behind Former Vice President Joe Biden, at 25 percent, and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), at 24 percent.

His performance in Sunday’s Emerson poll was boosted by placing second in the 18-29 year old demographic, with 22 percent. Sanders lead that category with 44 percent.

“If Buttigieg is able to maintain his momentum, his candidacy appears to be pulling from the same demographic of young voters as Sanders, and that could become a problem for Sanders,” Kimball said.

11%. +-6.2%. Tells us a whole lot. Not. I’m more interested that he passed Harris. Who knew that having a record on the wrong side of criminal justice reform would be a problem with primary voters.

Maybe if there was someone worth passing the baton to.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/harris-jabs-biden-sanders-and-warren-older-leaders-should-know-when-to-pass-the-baton

“We stand on the shoulders of great men and women who came before us and I think of it as being a relay race, young leaders, where they came before us, and they were running the relay race, and they had the baton, and then they passed that baton to us,” Harris, 54, said. “And the question for our lives will be, what do we do during that period of time?”

The former California attorney general joked that established leaders also should recognize when to hand off to the next generation, which doubled as a thinly veiled swipe at some of her top 2020 rivals: former Vice President Joe Biden, 76; Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 77; and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, 69.

“And, I’ll just say to the older leaders, that it also becomes question of let’s also know when to pass the baton,” Harris said.

Finally got it to play in another window.

This campaign is about moving up, not down.

polarbear4

Imagine an aggressive effort combat climate change.

Not the usual crowd answer of “ Too radical!”

If it doesn’t get released it might just provide conspiracy fodder?

It will keep the MSM busy for weeks, Hell the R’s investigated $hillary from every friggen angle and no charges either. Zero sum game. I cant stand Trumpcorp but not surprised by this at all

WindDancer13

They did not investigate HRC to charge her with anything, just to keep her in her place. After all, they all believe in the same agenda, and 95% of them are equally as crooked. In fact, one could probably look at those investigations as training sessions of how to pull it off.

No surprise to me or others here as I posted this form of the report on an earlier thread

Nice writeup in the SF Chronicle. These positive local reports are almost important as the rallies.

https://www.sfchronicle.com/politics/article/Sen-Bernie-Sanders-draws-enthusiastic-crowd-to-13712995.php

Thousands of people packed a Bernie Sanders rally in San Francisco’s Fort Mason on a sunny Sunday afternoon as the Vermont senator continued his campaign for U.S. president with a fiery populist speech, vowing to turn his progressive agenda into reality.

The crowd, estimated by the Sanders campaign at some 16,000, cheered and chanted “Bernie, Bernie” as Sanders laid out policies which he said were rejected as “radical and extreme” in his 2016 presidential quest, but have now found widespread support.

“The ideas we were talking about, the media and everyone else said they were so far out and so crazy, nobody in America supports them,” he said, enumerating concepts like raising the minimum wage, combatting climate change, reforming the criminal justice system and the immigration system, legalizing marijuana, guaranteeing health care to all, making college free, and removing the influence of the rich and super PACs in elections.

“Today Democratic candidates from school board to president are talking about exactly these same issues,” said Sanders, with the Golden Gate Bridge towering behind him as U.S. and California flags fluttered in the breeze.

Not sure where. He’s getting the 30,000 number

Maybe he was being sarcastic, after the crowds today.

San Jose’s Mercury was basically fine. Of course they managed to talk about the couple of people at the rally who had not decided that Bernie is the one for 2020. You can tell the paper is behind someone else. Kamala?

https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/03/24/bernie-sanders-san-francisco-rally-california-mueller-report/

Sen. Bernie Sanders brought his presidential message to the Bay Area Sunday afternoon, painting himself as a trailblazer on liberal issues who was ready to take his surprisingly strong 2016 performance all the way to the White House next year.

“Now is the time to complete what we began, now is the time to turn our vision and our progressive agenda into reality,” he told thousands of cheering fans gathered at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

Sanders’ speech was full of applause lines on progressive policies and swipes at President Trump, as well as a few more lines than his past campaign speeches about his personal biography. The Vermont senator’s crowd — estimated by his team as 16,000 people — waved blue-and-white campaign signs and chanted his name on the sunny afternoon.

Just think the rich still did more than well when the rates were 70% and above under the various presidents listed. Hell the R’s standard bearer Raygun was slightly under 70 and the rich never had it so good

Wonder if today’s billionaires can let this sink in (warning: it might require a jack hammer): The Ford Foundation and the Rockefellers among others continued their philanthropic works and started new endeavors under those much higher marginal tax rates.

By the 1950s the Rockefeller Foundation was investing heavily in the Green Revolution, especially the work by Norman Borlaug that enabled India, Mexico and many poor countries to dramatically upgrade their agricultural productivity.

With the acquisition of most of the stock of the Ford Motor Company the late 1940s, the Ford Foundation became the largest American philanthropy, splitting its activities between the United States, and the rest of the world.

Another nice writeup from SFGate. “Drop it on the evil witch” and “Unredacted, it says f— Trump, vote for Bernie.” ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Bernie-sanders-san-francisco-rally-13713028.php

Thousands gathered to see Sen. Bernie Sanders speak at Fort Mason in San Francisco, waving American flags, clutching Bernie signs and even plushie versions of the Democratic candidate.

As many as 16,000 people, according to the Sanders campaign, lined up starting at 9 a.m. to hear Sanders speak on issues such as raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and passing comprehensive immigration reform, as well as other planned policies for the 2020 campaign.

Before he began his speech, Sanders took a moment to address the report issued by Robert Mueller, who concluded his nearly two-year investigation focused on President Trump and his 2016 campaign. A summary of the report made public today by Attorney General William Barr, said Mueller found neither Trump nor his associates collaborated with the Russian government’s election interference.

In a fiery retort, Sanders exclaimed, “Well, I don’t want a summary of the report. I want the whole damn report, because nobody, especially this president, is above the law.”

Sanders was preceded by other speakers including Claire Lau, co-chair of the San Francisco Berniecrats, and former Sen. Nina Turner, who announced in February that she would take a leave of absence from her position as president of Our Revolution to become co-chair of Sanders’ campaign.

He was also joined by Rep. Ro Khanna, who serves as Sanders’ top Silicon Valley adviser, and former San Francisco Supervisor Tom Ammiano, who welcomed Sanders to San Francisco, calling it the Emerald City in a well-played “Wizard of Oz” reference.

“We’re gonna follow that f—ing yellow brick road right to the White House. Drop it on the evil witch,” he said.

Ammiano also had some choice words to say about the Mueller report: ” “Unredacted, it says f— Trump, vote for Bernie.”

WindDancer13

Wish he would say: “Taxpayers paid for the investigation and the report and ALL its findings and documentation belong to us.”
