9/1 Open Discussion

The Progressive Wing Posted on September 1, 2016 by magsviewSeptember 1, 2016

Good Morning everyone! I hope the first day of September finds you all well. Things people are talking about: The leaked DCCC memo   Leaked 2015 Memo Told Dems: ‘Don’t Offer Support’ For Black Lives Matter Policy Positions “If approached by BLM activists, campaign staff should offer to meet with local activists,” the memo reads. “Invited BLM attendees should be limited. Please aim for personal or small group meetings.” “Listen to their concerns,” it continues. “Don’t offer support for concrete policy positions.” The memo includes advice on what, exactly, to say to Black Lives Matter activists. 8/31 Open Discussion

The Progressive Wing Posted on August 31, 2016 by magsviewAugust 31, 2016

The letter, which presents no actual evidence of wrongdoing, and which follows up the one Harry Reid sent the FBI the other day, smacks of both a desperate attempt to deflect attention away from the revealing Clinton emails and as a bald election season ploy to cast aspersions on a … Continue reading →

Take On Wall Street “We’re Angry Wall Street and the big banks are devouring this country’s wealth – feasting on our jobs, our benefits and our pensions. We see it at the bargaining table, in bad trade deals like the Trans-Pacific Partnership, in anti-worker legislation in state capitals, and in the corrupt campaign finance system that makes sure that the voices of the billionaire class are the only voices that are heard in our democracy. We’re Taking On … Continue reading →

3 days before D.C. primary, Sanders calls for statehood

The Progressive Wing Posted on June 13, 2016 by Linda ThiemanJune 13, 2016

Washington (CNN)  Just days before D.C. residents head to the polls in 2016’s final presidential primary, Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders highlighted his support for District of Columbia statehood. “I think it is morally wrong for American citizens who pay federal taxes, fight in our wars and live in our country to be denied the basic right to full congressional representation,” Sanders said in a statement Saturday. Sanders also mentioned support for the cause in an off-hand remark at a campaign rally in the nation’s capital on Thursday. “I hope that the next time I’m back we’re going to … Continue reading →
