Whoa! Guaido is not giving us what we paid for, so let’s kill him and put the smoking gun in Maduro’s hand. It is so embarrassing to have people in other countries think that our government represents us or our views.

Anti-War Voices on Both Sides Warn of Coming CIA Provocation to Kill Guaidó, Blame Maduro

One of the first prominent anti-war voices to raise concern that the U.S. government, particularly the CIA, may now see Guaidó as more valuable dead than alive was Daniel McAdams, executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity and co-host of the Ron Paul Liberty Report, with the former congressman, presidential candidate and well-known libertarian. During Tuesday’s edition of the Liberty Report, Paul raised concern that a provocation could be used to push for foreign (i.e., U.S.) military intervention in Venezuela:

Concerns about Guaidó being targeted by the U.S. in order to blame it on the Venezuelan government and justify intervention were also raised on Wednesday by Ajamu Baraka, former vice presidential candidate for the Green Party and national organizer for Black Alliance for Peace. Baraka took to Twitter, stating:

“Watch out for a false-flag operation in Venezuela with a hit on Guaidó, whose value to CIA & U.S. state is fading by the minute now. With the release of Leopoldo Lopez (by unknown forces) the U.S. now has access to someone who is even more vicious and opportunist than Guaidó.”

Though it may seem extreme, the U.S. — and the CIA in particular — have turned on their assets in Latin America before, with former Panamanian dictator and long-time CIA asset Manuel Noriega being as good an example as any. Furthermore, the U.S. has often been led into wars by “false flag” provocations, such as the now infamous Gulf of Tonkin incident, which led to increased U.S. intervention in Vietnam. The CIA, together with the Pentagon, even made plans in the 1960s to conduct terror attacks on U.S. soil in order to justify military action against Cuba, showing that U.S. intelligence has even been willing to kill American citizens to justify military intervention abroad. There are numerous precedents from the CIA’s past that show that a plan that would see Guaidó become some sort of “false flag” martyr is hardly a far-fetched scenario.

Here is the set up:

In Guaidó’s case, National Security Adviser John Bolton — known for his marked tendency to favor military action over diplomacy — previously stated that Guaidó’s “safety must be guaranteed” and that “any threats or acts against his safe return will be met with a strong and significant response from the United States and the international community.”

Talk about the epitome of stupid and incompetent: exhibit A–John Bolton. Even Cheney/Dumbya’s cartel got rid of him!

Yup, government being currently run by the scrapings at the bottom of the barrel.

While this is currently centered in China, it can and will arrive in the US eventually as everything always does. Trump’s “let the pork industry monitor itself” policy is not looking very healthy.

Pig ‘ebola’ virus sends shock waves through global food chain

African swine fever in China shows that “animal and human disease surveillance systems are not working as well as they should,” she said. “This should concern everyone given that the potential economic impact of large-scale outbreaks is huge.”

Eating their own:

Washington’s Biggest Lobbyist, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Gets Shut Out

A month before his inauguration, and shortly after he had finished a round of golf with Tiger Woods, Donald Trump was introduced to an adviser of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the chief advocacy group for American corporations.

Stanton Anderson stood in the clubhouse of Mr. Trump’s golf course in West Palm Beach, Fla., and extended his hand to the president-elect.

Mr. Trump refused it.

“You guys did everything to stop me,” Mr. Trump said, his face reddening, according to two people who were there. “I haven’t forgotten.”

The chill has hurt the U.S. Chamber, which for decades was the unmatched voice of industry. Its revenue has dipped, spending on lobbying and elections has fallen, and its large-donor pool has shrunk.

And for a touch or irony there is this statement:

“I feel they are not much of a force anymore,” said U.S. Rep. Justin Amash (R., Mich.), a conservative Republican who has been at odds with the chamber. “I believe in free markets and am against cronyism and corporate welfare, and they support those things.”

And a touch of honesty (or dishonest if you wish):

One Donohue strategy has been to solicit donations from companies for specific goals. Since donor names aren’t public, the chamber could pursue controversial fights without identifying firms that would benefit.

“I want to give them all the deniability they need,” Mr. Donohue told Washington Monthly magazine in 2010.

Pathetic. There is no room in our party for independent thought or policies because we do not know how to verify election results:

Pelosi Warns Democrats: Stay in the Center or Trump May Contest Election Results

Sitting in her office with its panoramic view of the National Mall, Ms. Pelosi — the de facto head of the Democratic Party until a presidential nominee is selected in 2020 — offered Democrats her “coldblooded” plan for decisively ridding themselves of Mr. Trump: Do not get dragged into a protracted impeachment bid that will ultimately get crushed in the Republican-controlled Senate, and do not risk alienating the moderate voters who flocked to the party in 2018 by drifting too far to the left.

“Own the center left, own the mainstream,” Ms. Pelosi, 79, said.

“Our passions were for health care, bigger paychecks, cleaner government — a simple message,” Ms. Pelosi said of the 40-seat Democratic pickup last year that resulted in her second ascent to the speakership. “We did not engage in some of the other exuberances that exist in our party” — a reference to some of the most ambitious plans advocated by the left wing of her party and some 2020 candidates, including “Medicare for all” and the Green New Deal, which she has declined to support.

I believe she is misreading the results of 2018. Deliberately.

Few people outside Ms. Pelosi’s inner circle were aware of how worried she was that Mr. Trump would try to stop the opposition party from taking control of the House unless the Democrats’ victory was emphatic enough to be indisputable.

“If we win by four seats, by a thousand votes each, he’s not going to respect the election,” said Ms. Pelosi, recalling her thinking in the run-up to the 2018 elections.

“He would poison the public mind. He would challenge each of the races; he would say you can’t seat these people,” she added. “We had to win. Imagine if we hadn’t won — oh, don’t even imagine. So, as we go forward, we have to have the same approach.”

She is poisoning the well with this tripe. What she should be advocating for is paper ballots with a hand count, not trying to run progressives off. The wins could be undisputedly huge if the party got behind the progressive candidates instead of blocking them every way they can.

Christ sakes Pelosi Trumpcorp is going to claim voter fraud till the cows come home if he loses. His ego cant handle a rejection like that. And YES we do need a paper ballots and a hand count. Its a system that worked well for decades.

WindDancer13

Yes, he is. We will probably have to dismantle the White House to get Trump out.

At 79 yo, she is either semi-senile, stupid and/or both. Pelosi and Biden need to go on a geriatric date. Now, Bernie…I would like to know his ageless secret!

The ageless secret? Continuing using your heart as well as your brain. Use that secret to diagnose the other two (and others).

Someone at the Joe Biden Reddit just suggested Elizabeth Warren as Joe “No Bankruptcy” Biden’s vice president. No one blinked an eye over that. So far, the overwhelming majority of them want Harris as his running mate. That makes sense.

Just for what it is worth:
There is one Joe Bidden sub-Reddit with 731 subscribers (up a bit over 100 from last week, but from the comments some are Bernie supporters debunking the Biden mythology…otherwise known as educating them).
(There is a Biden Reddit for jokes about him, though, with over 2,000 subs.)

There are at least six sub-Reddits for Bernie with the following number of subscribers (a lot of crossover I am sure, though I only joined two of them):
Bernie Sanders 11,100
Sanders for President 247,000
Bernie 2,200
Bernie_Sanders 3,700
Way of the Bern 29,600
Still Sanders for Pres 4,000

The video in the article of Bernie meeting the crowd is nice:

‘We love you in Iowa’: Crowds flock to Bernie Sanders during surprise visit to Des Moines’ Downtown Farmers’ Market

“I would say virtually everybody here at this farmers’ market in Des Moines knows exactly who Bernie Sanders is,” Karl said into the camera.

After snaking through several blocks and meeting hundreds of fans, Sanders arrived near the end of his route.

“We love you in Iowa,” a man shouted at him.

“Thank you,” Sanders said, before entering a black SUV to travel to his first official campaign stop of the day.

Note: A March poll in Iowa found that the majority have no problem with a socialist-leaning candidate.

As if the breakfast burritos and fresh produce weren’t enough to encourage thick crowds for the inaugural Downtown Farmers’ Market of the season, a visit from Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders made it even more hectic near the booths that lined Court Avenue Saturday.

After filming an interview on the Principal Riverwalk, Sanders made his way through shoulder-to-shoulder shoppers. A few supporters had been notified ahead of time to help with crowd control, but Sanders impromptu visit took many visitors by surprise.

Not that it mattered.

Immediately after wading into the crowd, Sanders had trouble moving forward and aides had to keep Iowans from completely mobbing the presidential candidate.

Sure. Let’s invade Venezuela. Another jolly little war. It’s full of commies and has a sea of oil. The only thing those Cuban-loving Venezuelans lack are weapons of mass destruction.

This week, leading US neocons openly threatened that if the CIA’s latest attempts to stage a coup to overthrow Venezuela’s Maduro government failed, Washington might send in the Marines.

Well, the coup was a big fiasco and the Venezuelan army didn’t overthrow President Maduro. The CIA also failed to overthrow governments in Moscow, Tehran and Damascus. Its only ‘success’ to date has been in overthrowing Ukraine’s pro-Moscow government and putting a bunch of corrupt clowns in its place at a cost near $10 billion.

The US has not waged a major successful war since World War II – unless you count invading Grenada, Panama and Haiti, or bombing the hell out of Iraq, Syria, Somalia and Libya. That’s a sobering thought given the Pentagon’s recent announcement that it is cutting back on little colonial wars (aka ‘the war on terror’) to get ready for real big wars against Russia and China, or even North Korea.

Venezuela is in a huge economic mess thanks to the crackpot economic policies of the Chavez and Maduro governments – and US economic sabotage. But my first law of international affairs is: ‘Every nation has the absolute god-given right to mismanage its own affairs and elect its own crooks or idiots.’

Now, however, the administration’s frenzied neocons want to start a war against Venezuela, a large, developed nation of 32.7 million, at the same time we are threatening war against Iran, interfering all around Africa, and confronting Russia, China and perhaps North Korea. Large parts of the Mideast and Afghanistan lie in ruins thanks to our ‘liberation’ campaigns.

Another jolly little war with lots of jolly dollar signs.
