you think those polls are tryin’ to tell somebody sumptin?…wink wink

that cartoon would be so much funnier if it wasn’t so true

bebimbob

Unless I’m mistaken, it does not appear that BHO has joined HRC on the campaign trail. He promised to, then Orlando happened, then nothing since that I saw on the news. Tea leaves reading time?

Fleur de Lisa

I thought it was interesting that his endorsement was a recorded video, and now this – he’s campaigning for Feingold, but not with Hillary? Rather tepid, I think.

grapevines

Yes, the video was telling…Obama’s eyes looked positively sad , lifeless and his whole demeanor was unjoyful, resigned, during the video…absolutely lack luster, not what you would expect from a Pres endorsing a valued previous member of his administration. I got the feeling he was lying and didn’t like doing it to the American people. He knew he was squashing any hopes we might have had for change and a brighter future.

Creosote
Creosote

It’s not a good sign when his eyebrows go up (higher when closer to his nose) as they have often been over the last months. For me that tell often correlates with my sense that the person is lying (cf Cruz). Wonder why he’s doing this so reluctantly?

He’s waiting for an upcoming deal between Sanders and Clinton before campaigning for her, perhaps?

grapevines

more likely he’s waiting for her too do another of her flip-flops and come out strongly, publicly, again in favor of the TPP.

I don’t think Sanders has anything to do with it…I also think President Obama does not like her personally.

chasingorion

Agreed. He was smart enough to disarm her by making her SOS; I don’t think he has ever forgiven her for the turban, Muslim, birther ‘artful smears’ because it drained all the life out of his first term.

Star Strider

I cling (perhaps desperately) to the profound hope that she-who-must-not-be-named will at the very least be indicted, and he may want to keep his distance in the interest of appearing to be ‘objective’ in whatever decision he makes in that regard.

dkmich

Not according to the hillbots at dailykos. They’ve got diaries on the rec list telling us 81% of Bernie voters are supporting Hillary, and we’re racing like hell to join her team. We were just waiting for the old man to get robbed so we could jump on the bandwagon of the second most popular candidate ever. 😉

Star Strider

Please find out what they’re smoking!

In an email last week, ‘Bernie or Bust’ quoted a recent poll saying that only 7% of Bernie voters were willing to go over to the Dark Side in November, down from 27% in a previous poll. (It didn’t say what the other 93% would do — Dr. Stein, Trump, stay home — or some other option.)

I’m voting Bernie if he runs, or Green if he doesn’t. No other options for me, other than staying home, and after not being able to vote in 1968 — the voting age was 21 then and I was 20 that year — I’ve voted in every federal election and most others since.

joe from Lowell
joe from Lowell

I think you, and Bernie or Bust, read that backwards. A poll came out last week showing that the number of Sanders voters who wouldn’t vote for Clinton had declined from about 20% to about 8%.

Star Strider

Bummer.

I was quoting Bernie or Bust.

grapevines

I wouldn’t put too much stock in those polls…the media pollsters have been in the bag for Clinton for along time. In my opinion, I think the polling was corrupt. Just like the AP news release that Clinton had won the nom the day before the California primary voting.
@StarStrider

chasingorion

Agreed, people know what they are supposed to be saying–and are saying it. What they do in that booth is a ‘hole ‘notha ball of wax

dkmich

You made me curious so I googled the guestion. Pick your poll. Bloomberg says half won’t. CNN says 75% will. I don’t believe the polls. They’ve been biased against Sanders the whole primary. The Clintons and DP rigged and stole that election from us, and a lot of pissed off people want a whole new party. I’ll vote for the GOP before I’ll ever give my vote to another Democrat at the federal level.

I got a fundraising email from the Clinton campaign inviting me personally to donate. And get a chance to attend HAMILTON. with the Queen of Hearts.
I wrote back saying “don’t email me again”
Do you know how one gets to post a diary on TPW, dkmitch?
Thanks…
I thought this was an interesting and relevant article:

Perhaps just linking it here will give people a chance to read it if they haven’t seen it on line.

Thanks?

My pleasure!

We’re all in this together!

belle de jour

The little nibble of schadenfreude here is than Lin-Manuel will have left the show just a few days before her highness wears her own long Hamilton coat to host.

Even so, tickets for this precious performance are priced between $2700 to $100K .

*** Blue Light Special!***
Hillary is also offering a chance to attend a photo session afterwards for an additional $10,000.

eve

Wow…..breathtaking chutzpah….
Lucky Lin-Manuel to be able to miss the circus.

grapevines

Oh GOODY!!! Perhaps I can take a mortgage out on my paid for house to attend the photo shoot! I bet the canapes will be suburb & I’ll bring my hot sauce in my bag..so I can be just like her Emperialness. We’re twinsies you know, she’s just like me! S/

chasingorion

And you would be able to say anything since they’ll have the noise machines on!

belle de jour

I wish I had an internal noise machine every time she opens her mouth.

chasingorion

Just use their mantra

LA LA LA LA LA

belle de jour

She’s also an expert reciter of spirituals, you know.

Has anyone put out Hillary Hood Hot Sauce yet?

polarbear4

I misread it as “her hagness.” lol

belle de jour

Considering some of the hagiography in which her supporters must indulge to explain her political history and choices, it’s a perfectly understandable read, bear 😉

@eve — if you continue to receive emails from the campaign, mark it as spam. The more people who do that, the more likely it is that we can blackball the domain!

NonnyO

If 81 percent of Bernie voters support HRC, then how the hell did Bernie win 22 states, some by comfortable margins? [Bernie won MN by a healthy 23%, for instance.]

That’s not even taking into consideration the states where e-voting machines flipped totals, voters were disenfranchised by having their registrations changed or removed from lists, there were long lines because precincts were closed, etc. In NY state alone the estimate was that some three million people couldn’t vote, and most of those votes would have gone to Bernie.

Numbers (allegedly) may not lie, but they can be rigged, flipped, added, falsified, or deleted….

Methinks the delusional 81% number was pulled from someone’s ass, or maybe someone was on a bad acid trip – or both.

joe from Lowell
joe from Lowell

Because those 81% of Bernie voters support HRC against Trump. Not against Sanders. They’d still prefer Sanders over Clinton.

NonnyO

And Rethuglicans are voting for Hillary because they loathe Drumpf, so maybe they’re being figured in with that 81%.

Personally, I don’t see Drumpf as much of a threat as HRC would be. His handlers (behind the scenes, those alleged people who actually run the country?) would keep The Donald from doing too many egregious things if he got the office and made more of a reality show of the office than even the Bushistas. I don’t think they would have as much control over HRC & Bill and the Clinton Foundation and the money laundering they do.

Either HRC or Drumpf would be a disaster for this country, but HRC is more of a threat with TPP & warmongering. At least Drumpf is against TPP and more wars (for now).

Cora Regina
Cora Regina

The Great Trumpkin scares me, but HRC terrifies me. She knows exactly how to play the system to get what she wants, and what she wants is the TPP, to frack the entire planet, and lots of war, possibly with fucking Russia. Not to mention she wants to accumulate as much personal wealth as possible, and it doesn’t matter who suffers so long as Her Majesty gets what Her Majesty desires.

She doesn’t care if what she does is illegal (and considering the legal way tends to be harder and require effort my guess is she’ll take the low road every time she thinks she can get away with it), and given that Obama threw in with her, even if she does by some miracle get indicted and convicted she’s going to have a nice preemptive pardon waiting for her to make all of that go away.

chasingorion

There were no cross-tabs provided in that WaPo article–which I find very, very telling!

belle de jour

I also found today’s Seventh Planet FP diary about how republicans are going to convince feeble-minded Bernie BoBs to vote for Trump an excellent trope to keep re-enforcing – even when cloaked as ridicule.

Can’t get enough.

polarbear4

second most unpopular 😉

How on earth did we end up with those two? I am going Green.

In more ways than one.

Someone’s on fire tonight!

It’s a sorry state of affairs to be sure. My friend and I talked tonight, flabbergasted.
