Andrew Yang still unwilling to acknowledge the Israeli government’s human rights violations (even as recognized by the UN), including ethnic cleansing through forced evictions, the attack on the Al-Aqsa mosque, and the occupation.
Utterly shameful for Yang to try to show up to an Eid event after sending out a chest-thumping statement of support for a strike killing 9 children, especially after his silence as Al-Aqsa was attacked.
James Zogby leads a panel discussion on what Americans and the Democratic Party can do regarding the fate of Occupied Palestine. :: [Mondoweiss.net has] written about Obama’s November surprise before: The liberal Zionist hope that President Obama will do something to end the Israeli occupation of Palestine before he leaves office, but after the election, because if he did anything now it would hurt Hillary Clinton. Debra DeLee of Peace Now says Obama can make “a gift” to the next president by taking steps in international fora on the two state solution after the election. While we’ve been away, shocked, appalled and grief-stricken, Israel has been taking advantage of the lack of attention on them and has decided to recklessly set about breaking international law yet again. by Annie Robbins, mondoweiss.org Never let a serious crisis go to waste. The party belongs to Hillary Clinton. This is the Jerusalem Post’s report: The Democratic Party plans to declare in its platform opposition to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement [BDS], a top priority for the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, The Jerusalem Post …Continue reading →
by Yakov Hirsch at Mondoweiss.net I closely follow the American coverage of the political crisis in Israel, in which Israeli generals have issued historic critiques of the government as fascistic and reminiscent of Nazi Germany, because some pro-Israeli American journalists have historically been less than honest when “reporting” news from that region. How are they going to do with Israel’s latest black eye? The results haven’t been very encouraging so far. The New York Times has portrayed the crisis fatuously as a “changing of the guard.” Max Boot in Commentary tells us that the battle is “complex and interesting” and …Continue reading →
