It would be most interesting to turn this technology loose on the corrupt politicians. Well one can dream. Anyway my favorite quote from “Enemy of the State”

Brill: The government’s been in bed with the entire telecommunications industry since the forties. They’ve infected everything. They get into your bank statements, computer files, email, listen to your phone calls… Every wire, every airwave. The more technology used, the easier it is for them to keep tabs on you. It’s a brave new world out there. At least it’d better be
Pretty much sums it up

Movies tell us so much if we only listen…Can’t imagine being completely off the grid and yet I do things ‘the hard way’ sometimes just to give my own little ,,l,, to ‘the man’

How about this technology is turned on the good politicians to keep them in line? I have absolutely no doubt Cheney would/did use it against anyone he considered his enemy, his adversary to the Bush Administration. I sometimes wonder when a new President is sworn into office, if he is immediately apprised about just how much power he really doesn’t have. Who are the real masters ruling this nation? Are they told to play to stay or hell will be brought down on him? Did that happen to President Obama? Why such a change in him during his second term? Especially after this election cycle, I’ve become extremely cynical.

On the plus side – how can they possibly spy on everyone all at once and expect to make any sense of… anything?

Luckily for them, they’re just blowing the public’s money on this spying on the public, which might otherwise be wasted on the public good.

I don’t understand this need for total control. “They” must be more afraid of us than seems warranted. I agree about movies telling the truth, unfortunately the “news” doesn’t seem to watch movies.
