FB is offering a service to do this, but they want your data for marketing purposes, so I didn’t use it. I don’t even report where I work on FB! I did look at ballotpedia, but I didn’t find it helpful for “issues” on the ballot, or at least when I looked it at 2 weeks ago.

I voted by mail because i needed to look up the pros and cons of those issues first, see who was supporting them, etc, before making my choices.

Anyone see “60 Minutes” last night? Or Bill Maher’s “Real Time” last Friday. Both very dark, but most especially Bill Maher’s show. He appeared to be very freaked out. I am not freaked out by the General Election, but I am somewhat repulsed by it, as the focus group in “60 Minutes” was.

Lee Camp has an interesting take on how the system is rigged…but not against DJT.

There’s also the League of Women Voters’ site that I used to look up my ballot: http://www.vote411.org/

And then http://berniecrats.net/ will help you find candidates who are Berniecrats.

There’s such a dearth of good options downballot in my area and many areas. Part of that is the grip of Big Money funding entrenched political machines, and part of it is needing to grow the grassroots movement that Bernie started — with people talking to people over a period of time. So I’m hoping after this election we’ll be able to focus on getting more and more Berniecrats elected.

A whole bunch of empty lines in Wichita:

My ballot choices in NJ this year are fairly uninspiring–no governor or senator election, and I Iive in a safe Dem House district with a hack Dem running. Other than President (actually not so exciting), the most exciting choice is a ballot question about allowing casinos in northern New Jersey. A big no from me.

It looks to me like Clinton will have a narrow win nationally, but who knows about the Senate. 538 now has the Republicans as the slight favorite to retain control.

Not great news about Zephyr Teachout either–she was down by 6 in a poll released yesterday by Siena.

Here’s something I read today about our friend Donna. I will not be watching election coverage on TV tomorrow so I’ll escape these bloviators.

“Donna Brazile is not apologizing for leaking CNN debate questions and topics to the Hillary Clinton campaign during the Democratic primary. Her only regret, it seems, is that she got caught.

“My conscience — as an activist, a strategist — is very clear,” the interim chair of the Democratic National Committee said Monday during a SiriusXM interview with liberal activist Joe Madison. She added that “if I had to do it all over again, I would know a hell of a lot more about cybersecurity.”

Notice that Brazile said her conscience is clear “as an activist, a strategist.” She is basically confirming one of the most negative perceptions of political operations — that the guiding ethos is whatever it takes to win. According to this cutthroat code of conduct, she did the right thing by putting her party’s front-runner above all else.

For journalists who believe it is time to purge cable news of partisan pundits, Monday’s remarks by Brazile will only strengthen their resolve. She is suggesting that when operatives double as commentators, their true loyalties are in politics, not journalism, and they will try to use their positions in the media to advance their causes.

Hillary effect on the down ballots. DNC poured nearly every once of its resources to get Marie Antoinette to get the crown, instead of helping their down tix. I guess HRH will be happy because she will have less progressives to contend with.

For the first time in decades I will not be watching the election coverage, I will get the down ballot results on the web for WI. Just don’t feel up to it this time around . if she wins as expected 2020 will be a blood bath for the Dems.

I’m hoping there will be an election night watch open thread here tomorrow. I bought some Warsteiner Pils for the occasion. I don’t think I can bear it without some help – both from the adult beverage and my friends here.

I’ll be here off and on @phatkhat. I almost wore black from head to toe to work today, but I relented and included a light green shirt under my black sweater to go with my black slacks. As a stubborn signal to myself to keep hope alive.

But an adult beverage will be very helpful for me to get through this night.
